Hello everyone I'm a complete snus noob and I need some suggestions. I just tried Camel snus a couple days ago and still have half of the can left. I decided that I could stop smoking with snus. I researched online and found this site and everyone here seems to be friendly so I thought I would ask. I Just ordered some snus from get snus and was wondering if I made the right choices? I ordered the following: General Wintergreen White portion, Off Road apple portions, N&J East portions, Gortburghs Rape #2 portions, and what ever random can they through into my order. Any Thoughts on these? Also any suggestions would be much appreciated as I really have no idea what to order. Thanks in advance.

welcome to snuson.
the offroad apple may be the only one I wouldn't like. Everybody's different though.
Did you ever use American dip? Snus won't be the same intense flavor.
You ordered four flavored kinds of snus so if you get some traditional ones you might have a better idea of the base flavors of snus.
I always say get a can of General. Lot's of choices now a days in the strong category too. If you intend to use snus to quit smoking look down that road. Sterk, Stark, Svart, all = extra nicotine to keep the cigarettes away.
Either way good luck. Let us know what you think when you try what you ordered.

Welcome!
If you are going straight froim cigs to snus I think I would throw in one of the sterk, or stong portions, just to satisfy the urge. Other than that there is really no wrong answer, just try a few and see what kind of flavors you like, straight tobacco, lightly flavored, or barely taste the tobacco.
If you browse the forum, you will see there is really no telling what snus you will like, just try to find the right snus(es) for your personal taste.

General Ekstra Sterk!!!! It will kill the urge for even the most veteran chainsmoker!
I noticed you bought a can of Nick & Johnny East. I have not tried it because several people have said the flavor is bad. If you want something that has a plain tobacco and mellow flavor, try Ettan Portions.

First, welcome to Snuson SSgtTrav
I will echo some of the others. Next order, get some non flavored snus. You might be surprised how much you like it. Also, get some strong snus. That was really important for me as I transitioned off of cigarettes.
I will repeat the advice I give to everyone trying to quit cigarettes. Just don't stress it. If you feel like smoking, then smoke. Over time, if you are like 99% of us here who did used to smoke, the snus will just naturally win out. I didn't start snus to stop smoking, I just wanted something that would tide me over at work so I didn't have to leave my sales floor for a cigarette. But soon, I just didn't want to smoke any more. I just stopped buying cigarettes after about 3 weeks to a month of using snus.
Please let us know what you think of the Swedish snus. It will NOT be as sweet. And at first, all you may taste is salt. that is normal. Your body needs a week or two to get acclimated to the salt. After that, you will hardly taste it at all.
Don't be suprised or disappointed of you don't like the Swedish stuff at first. Many folks who have come from Camel need some adjustment time. But over a week or two, they start to really prefer the Swedish stuff.
Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum!
The General Wintergreen tastes like Wrigley's spearmint gum. It's minty and sweet and isn't too salty, so it's a smooth transition into snus. The Goteburg is flowery and sweet, and a little salty but not very. I've found either you like or don't, but still well worth a shot. I haven't tried N&J or Offroad, and I'd like to hear what you thought.
Like sagedil said, you'll probably notice Swedish snus to be saltier, and it'll probably take a little time to get used to. I just switched over to more traditional snuses like Ettan, Grov, Retro, and Lucky Strike. Much saltier than Catch flavored snuses and even more so than anything American made. It's taken about a week for me to get used to it, but afterward I'm finding them all to be quite nice. It's a toss up between Ettan and Grov for me now, and it really depends on how strong I brewed my coffee that morning. Try out what you got and see where to go from there. Keep us posted.

Personally, if you're new to snus, I'd recommend throwing in a can of loose next order, along with one of the $1.50 prismasters. Maybe base what you try at first on what you liked in the portions. It's a different kind of experience. If you like it, great - it will save you money in the long run and imo has better flavor. If not, then you can just get more portions, and snuson! Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for all the input. I will definately try some non flavored next time. I wasn't sure if I would like non flavored due to me never using any kind of american chew before except the rare couple times a friend gave me some skoal apple which wasnt to bad, thats why I tried the offroad apple. Who knows maybe the mystery can they thew into the order will be non flavored or loose or non flavored loose. I'll let everyone know what I thought of the snus I ordered. Thanks again.
