    Cylinder Portions?

I've notice that Swedish portion snus is far less comfortable compared to Camel snus. The shape of Swedish snus portions can be uncomfortable at times and will slide down to my teeth every once in a while. Are there any insiders that know if Swedish Match or other snus manufacturers plan on releasing a cylinder-shaped portion snus? I think this would be a real breakthrough innovation for portion snus in Sweden and Norway.

Here's a comparison of General Portion and Camel Snus:

Even though Camel Snus is far inferior to Swedish snus in terms of nicotine delivery and flavor, I think the one advantage Camel has is the shape of the portion. As well, I notice that most los users shape their snus into cylindrical shapes. It would make sense to at least test market a Swedish snus line that had a longer shape. Perhaps Swedish Match could test market a General that is similar in dimensions to Camel Snus? Let me know what you think!

I'll be first in line for this if they ever do it; I haven't tried the Camel stuff, but I like the way the portions are shaped.

did you ever think of, I dunno, folding the portion in half?

plus, the swedish portion is like, 2-3 times the volume of the camel one. it'd be a much bigger cylinder.

I don't know about that. I just had a Camel last night, the first one in months. I'd guess that the Camel portion is somewhere between a mini, and a regular. It wouldn't take too much fattening to get it up to the size of a regular portion.

I personally prefer surface area over comfort. But I support my fellow snusers!

              We should start creating petitions.

it could be the same surface area and still have a longer shape. geometry, the only thing I'm good at besides double barreling skruf stark

That is true but I'm not sure I would want mine to be that long.

Camel portions are shaped similar to how I bake my los so maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing.

I too find the SM portions a little to sqaure. I would be interested in trying swedish snus in rectangular format portion so to speak.

That's about correct. Unless they changed the size again recently, the Camel snus is 0.6 grams (a Swedish mini is 0.3 and a regular is 1.0).

So yes, a regular Swedish cylinder would have to be bigger... I would definitely be interested in trying that. I'm guessing that, with the bigger surface area, the nicotine uptake would be quicker (good) but the snus wouldn't last as long as a normal portion (bad).

For the most part, does everyone place their portion/pris in the upper lip? I realize this is the "classic" way to do it, but I for one prefer to put it in my cheek on my bottom jaw. I'm too scared of gum recession on my front teeth.

So I think I'd prefer them all to be shaped like the Camel snus as they fit much better there.

I just fold mine in half like a hot dog and roll it between my thumb a little bit before inserting.

Granit Maxi is much longer than it is wide. Good stuff, too.

It can cover a large swath of your upper lip without infringing on your teeth.
