1st time sweedish snus impressions

Hello all, I posted a couple days ago about my 1st order of snus and asked what you guys and girls thought and for any suggestions. Well today I got my snus in the mail right before I left for work this afternoon so I was pretty excited. First I'd like to say that getsnus.com has super fast shipping. I placed my order on saturday around 2am which was really late friday night for me :wink: I am stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland(I'm USAF not Army. Just stationed on an Army post)so I am just a state down but still thats really fast. They also sent me a can of Ettan white portions as my mystery can wich made me happy because all the suggestions you guys gave me said I should try unflavored snus next order but now I get to try it before I order again. Yes I opened all of the different cans because I wanted to try them all. I have kept them in the fridge since.
Enough BS though time for my first impresions.

Offroad Apple portions- Supprisingly I really liked these even though I've really only heard bad things about Offrod. They aren't like skoal apple which is really sweet like candy almost. They have a real subtle fresh apple scent and flavor and you can taste the tobacco as well.

General Wintergreen White portions- I really liked these also. Nice mint flavor that doesnt overpower the tabacco and isn't near as sweet as Camel Frost.

Nick & Johny East White portions- My absolute favorite so far. These were very good. I loved the smell and flavor. Tasted a little like I was snusin some indian food and it wasn't overpowering at all. Will definately order more.

Goteborgs#2 White portions- I liked these almost as much as the N&J East. They have a very similar flavor yet slightly different from the N&J. I also happened to be drinking a Dr. Pepper at the time and it really brought out the slight berry flavor that was hidden by the salty flavor.

Ettan White portions- I really wanted to love these because everyone seems to like Ettan. The main flavor I could taste was salt. I could taste the salt in all of them but it was really salty with the Ettan. I've read on here that the salt taste goes away after you have been using snus for some time so I haven't written Ettan off yet because there was a flavor underneath all that salt that I knew I would enjoy if not for all the salt.

So there are my thought on the snus I've had so far. I cant wait till my body adjusts to the salt flavor so i can really enjoy the flavors behind the salt. Everyone was right though sweedish snus is salty,but all in all I really like sweedish snus way better than the Camel frost that I had. I will like it even more if that salty flavor tones down some for me. Sorry for the long post.

the gote #2 is great..one of my favs...try it with a sprite lol

i havent tried the other but they were in my next order which should be here sometime this week

Great reviews. You will get used to the salt flavor, I promise. When I started using snus, I jumped straight into the strong category with Nick & Johnny and Skruf Stark. These are really salty but I got used to it very quickly. Personally, I prefer traditional tobacco flavored snus like Ettan and Lucky Strike. General is another brand I love, since the flavor is mainly tobacco with hints of lime, which is a great blend. I would recommend buying a sample package to gauge what kind of snus you prefer:

Also, store large amounts of snus in your freezer to preserve the flavor and prolong the freshness.

Thanks. I did freeze the extra cans that I bought. I also vacuum sealed them to keep from getting freezer burn. I bought five cans of the general wintergreen and the OR Apple so 4 of each are freezing right now. I am definately gonna order some more snus I just gotta make room in the freezer . I just gotta figure out what I'm gonna buy. Snusjus where are you in Ohio? I'm from Youngstown originally.

Well I think I might of over done it last night. During my last portion of the night I started to feel a bit queesy and week and my palms got a little sweaty. I did try a lot of different flavors though and that could of messed me up or maybe it was all the salt. I had 7 portions in total. 2 apple, 2 N&J east, 1 Got#2, 1 General wintergreen, 1 Ettan. I also had a few cigs. Today I don't know if my stomach can handle anymore. Anyone else experience this when they first started?

how long did you keep each one in...and how long did you wait before the next

I usually keep them in for about 45 to 75 minutes. A few of them I only waited maybe 30 min inbetween using another, maybe shorter. Most I waited at least an hour. I was all excited to try them so I might of waited less.

I remember when I started, not only did I have some indigestion, but I didn't shit for about 3 days. Freaked me out a little, but I got over it.

Well in a little while I'm gonna throw a got #2 in to see how it treats me. I haven't had one all day so hopefully it turns out ok. I tell you what though texasmade, my PT session today didn't help. It wore me out and made me feel even worse. I'm currently drinking some sprite and it's starting to help my stomach out and I believe you said it goes well with got #2.

Oh I'm real familiar with dumb asses. I'm a Techschool instructor. I believe the army calls it AIT, not sure what the marines call it but basically the training for your career field that is after basic. I didn't volunteer I was voluntold. It's usually voluntary but they needed people. We have some real stupid airman in our school right now, they just can't stay out of trouble. Today my commander just took all their privliges away because this past Saturday some airman punched another airman student leader in the face. Well they finnaly got here from their ass chewing so time to go teach some machining.

Hoo boy... my roomie forgot he had a potion of General Sterk in and went for a run. He made it a quarter mile before he had to stop and come back. Smooth, Swan, real smooth...

As for dumbasses... One of our knobs (what we call freshmen at El Cid) told a cadet officer to "**** off" during parade practice. He was already scared when he was wolfpacked by every senior in the company chewing him out. Then I come along, and everyone quiets down. I stand an inch away from his face, and I'm more growling than talking or yelling. And I don't sound pissed in the classic sense. My facial expression definitely showed it, but my tone of voice was eerily calm, low, and gravely. I don't think I've ever seen someone that close to crying before ever. We haven't had an issue with him being respectful to upperclassmen since. Maybe I should just enlist and work my way up to senior NCO...

Well good news. I feel better now and I am currently enjoying a Got #2, first snus of the day. I actually feel better now that I'm snusin. Texasmade you were right it does go great with sprite.
ShaulWolf yeah the military seems to be full of dumbasses lately it's like all the new airmen we get just keep getting worse, don't get me wrong we still have some great airman they are just few and far between. I've made a lot of airman cry, not purposefully of course :wink: They get all upset when they get yelled at and start tearing up and I just look at them and ask them why they are crying, whats that supposed to accomplish. Do you think I'm gonna take it easy on you if you cry? Most of them stop the waterworks at that point but some just lose it.
