KLONDIKE LONG CUT SNUS straight reviewed

I purchased a can of Klondike long cut straight snus today for $1.89.

Got a lottery ticket too. Woo hoo!

Anyway, this isn't really snus. It isn't really dip either. It is way closer to American style chew absolutely. The taste is very similar to Red Man long cut straight.

The contents are much too loose to "bake" and I initially bottom lipped a pinch. Yeah that straight American style sweet flavor you'd expect from chew or dip here state side. Difference is there isn't that acrid twang in the back of my throat. I felt no need or desire to spit.

The nicotine content and delivery seems comparable to American chew. The usability is better due to the lack of the spit reflex I get from Copenhagen or similar dips.

I was able to upper lip a bit later today and was interesting. It has lots of sugary sweet molasses flavor. It kind of made my teeth feel hollow upper and lower after removing.

For what it is I wouldn't rule it out if you like straight dip. The price was great comparing it to Cope, but so is Redman. Redman for me isn't the greatest dip to swallow. This didn't bother me.

Two other styles/flavors were available. I believe both were different mints. Since I am not a mint fan with oral tobacco I fell to the straight by default.

    In summary.

Another product labeled "snus" that tastes too sweet and isn't in the Swedish tradition of flavor or cut.

I realize I bought long cut. Fine cut wasn't available. I realize I bought straight. Natural wasn't an option.

A foot in the door? Maybe. An American Snus? Not really.

my thanks to Xobe for mentioning this product previously so that I was able to look out for it and try it myself.

Did you order it online, or did you buy it in a store? I would like to try it, but if I can get it locally, I'll do that before ordering some.

actually klondike fine cut wintergreen was the first "snus" i tried. i bottom lipped it and was spitting. tasted way too sweet. i googled snus to figure out why it was called snus. it along with triumph did get me by until i got my first order. i would never buy any more of it. it sucks ass as far as i'm concerned.

I still have a few cans sitting in my freezer that I picked up on a recent trip. Too sweet, can't really upper lip it. Nic was good but I am not really into lower lipping so it felt odd.

I have the Fine cut stuff in my fridge. Your description is spot on. It is sort-of an in-between dip and lossnus.

From what I understand, this stuff is made in the same factory as Gotlands, Montecristo & RyJ. Interesting how thay finally managed to make something that doesn't get that horribly bitter flavor after 15-20 min. If they would tone down the sweetness level about 100x I might actually use this stuff on occasion. I do actually like the taste of "Straight" dip.

I see you're in Ohio. Where did you find it?
