All these new snus' and im like wtf

Ok, it had been since december since i regularly posted on here.

My stash had just run out and i had been using Camel Snus which had just been released here in LaGrange GA.

I come back though because i started a new job and the only way you got a break to go outside was to smoke. So alas I started smoking but 3 days into it I felt like sh_t and went back to snus.

I get on here to see what new brands and Low and behold monster nic snus.

Seriously 16MG, 17MG and even an 18Mg ( if my memory is correct )

Is that much actually ok to use. Hell for me thats a panic attack in a can waiting to happen. You could probably grow a coke nail and dip it in the can and rub it on your gums and get a buzz.

Do some of you really need nic levels such as these.

I ordered some Odens Kanel 8 mg in Los for at home and Portions for work since i love cinnamon and hope they got this right.

But i notice more and more brands coming out and im wondering how long are some of our favs gonna last and i have this feeling that ill be receiving an email from buysnus here soon with a list of discontinuations.

Seeing Oden is made by a new company yet again im worried that i may have found a snus im going to love and then blam, discontinued.

Oh well, guess ill see how it is and if anything ill always have my gotlands gul to fall back on.... still loving that.

Welcome back Grim. You were here when I first started, so it's good to see you coming around again.

Personally, I use loose all the time, so if I'm going to use a portion, it needs to be extra strong. As far as loose, I like having something strong for the mornings, but other than that I want my standard 8mg favorites.

Grim, if you look at all the posts about Thunder, YES, itb has a lot of nicotine, but the hit is actually more mild then others. What the big Nic Thunder DOES do is last forever. Using Thunder, I have cut down how many snus I use in a day by more than 50%. I normally chain snus, but with Thunder, i will usually wait 2 hours between them.

And get used to snuses being discontinued. just the way it is. Remeber, General has like 76% of the market share. EVERYTHING else claws for the remainder, and it is typical for snus companies to be constantly introducing some, ending others. Just the way it is.

Rumor is that Oden has been around for a while, just not distributed much. The Extra strong is pretty good. I have some regular portions on order.

I have a similar ambivalence about stronger and stronger.

Where are the strong minis? I know there are the moccas, but that's still just 6. I'd love a 10-12mg mini, that comes with at least 24 portions for the same price. It would cut total tobacco exposure and hide better.

I really never left, i just was lurking reading about what others had to say.

I have found the Extra Sterk portions are the closest thing in nicotine content to what I received from dip. The difference is I am consuming much less tobacco in the process. A 1.2 oz (35 gram) can of dip lasted me about one day. A 24 gram can of portion snus lasts me three days. I probably put in about eight pinches of dip during the day, same as snus, but the dip pinches were much larger and that would about kill the can.

I do try to alternate between strong/extra strong portions and regular portions because my goal is to eventually cut my nicotine intake, but right now the ES portions are in no way too strong and a real bad day at work could find me with two GES portions in at once.

I don't remember if you were a smoker or not, but using more snus doesn't seem to have the destressing effect of chain smoking. If anything I've found that it just upsets my stomach. I've always felt that the calming effect of cigarettes cam e from the deep breathing, and not the nicotine...

Hey all. It's been a while. I haven't posted in a while, but I still read these forums frequently.

Personally, I don't need that much nicotine. Lately I tend to use Knox Portion when out and about and either Grov or Ettan loose when at home. The typical 8mg stuff does me just fine.

When I first made the transition to snus from cigarettes, I used a lot of the stronger stuff. Nick & Johnny loose was my favorite until it got discontinued. After that I was on Skruf Stark loose for a while. But eventually, I found myself stepping down to the 8mg stuff and that's where I stayed. I still enjoy a can of Skruf from time to time, but otherwise I rarely use strong brands.

I used to try every new brand that came out, but I can't keep up anymore. That's another reason why I'm not very into strong brands. I've already found my favorites and I just prefer not to deviate. I could pretty much live out the rest of my days with nothing except Knox, Ettan, and Grov and be pretty happy. Couple that with my aversion to anything higher than 12-14mg per gram and you can easily see why I stay away from the newer, high nicotine brands.
