    Thoughts on lös from a new löser

    I decided to try it out to see how I like it, and just got my first tin of Ettan lös in this morning. This is my second pris, and I'm quite liking it. The flavors are a little richer with less of the immediate smokiness you'd get from the regular portions. It wasn't all too difficult to bake, and this portion is lasting 45 minutes without the mudslide I keep hearing about. Lasted the same using a Pris Master, and probably a little longer but I had to get to class.

    Three things I noticed with lös. You have to swallow the juice more often, and spitting is a no no unless you want to loosen up the pris and have it fall apart faster. Sip smaller sips, or you'll accidentally rinse some of it and make it fall apart a little. You're going to get little bits of it run down your teeth after a bit, which is something I'm getting used to.

    All in all I'm enjoying it, though. I wouldn't use it in class since I'd like to rinse out the loose bits between my teeth, but it's nice to use when I'm sitting in my room studying.

    I started with loose as my first snus, and one thing I've always noticed is that it seems much more flavorful to me. It also feels better on my gums. I get a few bits in my teeth sometimes (usually if I'm poking at it a lot), but it's well worth it and easily remedied with a swig of water. Glad you're enjoying the Ettan, it's good stuff.

      I actually nibble or chew the bits when I have Grov Snus in and have been learning how to push the mudslide back up and reform a little with my tongue without exacerbating the slide. The more you do it the easier it gets and I agree it is better on the gums and on taste.

        I used to do that with a little bit from each tin when I got my first order, since I couldn't wait to try all the flavors .

            Grov los is delicious. It's probably my second choice after General los. If I want some nice tobbacoey taste without the citrus/pepperiness of General, Grov really can't be beat.

            Of course, as most will tell you, you're either a Grov man or an Ettan man.

            I guess I'm a Grov man. Plus the coarse grind makes it super easy to hilbilly.

              I've never tried los. I take it it's not like a lip of Skoal. I'll try it soon. From what I gather, it's hand molded into a small pellet and stuck in the mouth. One thing I'm still not used to is these Swedish words, and my American mind keeps wanting to pronounce them as they are spelled.

                I ordered a tin of Grov regular portion and Grov Svart so I figured I'd even it out with some Ettan lös. I'll order some Grov lös in my next order since I just wanted to test the waters first. Truth be told I like them both equally at this point, and it really depends on just how strong I've made my coffee. Give it a bit and it'll probably change along with my tastes like many others have.

                  someone needs to produce some snus "chew". Is snus by neccesity powdered? I think if tobacco were just pasteurized, unfermented, and flavored with a gental sweetness in long strands, I'd be all over it. still love of an occasional wad in my cheek

                    I'm pretty sure that snus is supposed to be finely ground (compared to American snuff). Otherwise I think it'd just be chew.

                      Snus=snuff

                      As ShaulWolf said, it's what it is. Twist chew, and even the American Loose leaf aren't so bad for you. The worst thing is the sugar on your teeth. The TSNAs are pretty low.

                        Well the Offroad Longcut Wintergreen (and I presume Longcut Original) are similar to American dip in texture, if that is what you are looking for.

                            I like to use the Kardus when urge for American style hits me, I just can't take the taste ogf chew/dip/whatever anymore, but the mouth feel, even upper lipping it, is remarkably similar for me. Now the price leaves a little to be desired, but I still have well over half of my Xmas supply left, great for the occasional treat.

                              what I mean is like redman loose-leaf but produced like snus and less unbearably sweet.

                              thoughts appreciated though, definitely curious about the "long cut" snus
