Regular vs White Portions and Recommendations for 2nd Order

I'm fashioning up another order and have found myself adding, for example, a can of General Portion and a can of General Portion White.

Am I going to notice a difference? I've heard that white portions take a little longer for the flavor to hit but it lasts longer. Any truth to that? If that's the case, why not get white portions all the time?

Also, looking for recommendations. I love both portions and los.

I guess I really dig the tobacco flavored stuff, which may surprise some as I don't like Ettan at all. I get a strange latex taste from it... tastes similar to how a condom smells... unused of course!

Whites vs regulars is purely an individual preference. Some folks prefer the more juicy regulars, some folks such as me generally prefer whites.

My tastes actually did a 180 degree flip after about a year of using snus. Suddenly, old favorites such as Nick & Johnny were just hitting me too hard, I could suddenly not tolerate the taste for long. I switched to mostly whites and have been happy for a year. Lucky Strike, Retro, are both snuses which I greatly prefer the white varieties. Now Pall Mall, for some strange reason, I seem to prefer the regular. Ask me again in two months. :lol:

You just need to try for yourself and find where your tastes fit. but if you are looking for great whites, you must try both the retro and Lucky Strike

I prefer regular portions which work perfectly for me in the front of my lip where I like snus to sit. With white portions I move them back further towards my cheek to get them going and then reposition them in the front of my lip.

If you actually look check out the sampler boxes they have combos of both white and regular portions, but unless you want 4 regular sized portions and 6 minis I recommend bying them yourself. The regular portions were my favorites until I ran out and was stuck with the white. They grew on my and started becoming my favorite, except the Gotlands Rpae#1 which tasted great but the actual snus wasnt very conforming to my upper lip.

Gotlandssnus is a great compromise as they are regular portions but drier than most whites, the tobacco inside the pouch that is.

Still, must try ALL snus. You never know and each person reacts differently.

Ettan portions have an odd taste and smell. The smoke flavoring is too artificial for me. Like Sagedil said, try Lucky Strike! Order a can of the White and Original portions. In my opinion, Pall Mall is too similar to General, but you may like it.

Indeed, try a mix of everything and find which you like best. Like sagedil said, if you want to try out some good white portions try out Retro and Lucky Strike. They're good strait tobacco flavored snuses. I found them a little salty at first, but that gave way after a week of using them and adjusting. Might I suggest that before you toss out Ettan entirely you try out Ettan los instead of the portions?

Speaking as someone who has little to no attachments to any of these products, but who has General white and original, as well as Skruf white and original in the drawer beside him, the white and "originial" will taste no different after 20 minutes in your mouth. White looks more appealling, if you were handing them out in a bar.

Having experienced both, I'll be ordering "original" in the future. I LIKE the slight taste shock, the very strongest pepper or herb or syrup snus has on offer. You won't get that with white. The 50th mouthful of saliva will taste much like the first.

I like the white portion in a stark or when I have a 3 hour class and want something to be discreet and maintain its flavor.

I love roda white and skruf stark white.

regular portions like general and claq qui get my nod too.

nothing beats a n&j west white portion for me though.

i prefer whites for the slow tooth staining effect. i prefer regulars for the instant flavor.
