    Montecristo snus

Hi brand new to snus all I have had is Oliver twist berry and Camel snus the mint (YUK!) and the mellow which is OK for now but I just put an order in for some different brands from Northerner. Cant wait! I have one question how do I get Montecristo Snus? I have my sources for cigars I even asked them and they either dont know about snus or they just dont carry it. Any help for a Newbee would be appreciated.

Welcome Bladeswitch... You can find lots of threads using the search function on this forum about obtaining, enjoying, and not enjoying Montecristo snus. I personally like it quite a bit. It is very differnt from other Swedish snus varieties that you have yet to try, so be sure to buy several different kinds to discover what you like and don't like. Sample boxes are great for that your first time around. And almost always give something you didn't like in these first few weeks a second chance down the road. Like the rest of us your tastes will definitely change over time. For Montecristo to the US try:

      Welcome to Snuson Bladeswitch

Just searching through the forums, I found these two as well

      www.snusButiken.com
      WorldwideSnus.com

I have never ordered it, but people have from both places with no issues.

i got a can of metecristo loose from northernet a few weeks back. It is more expensive than other snus but it is worth money. It is a real treat. I has in my opinion the best flavour of all the snus I have ever tried.

It has good nic hit as well. It is very fine grain. The tin is pretty cool also.

          WOW!

Just reiceved my order from northerner my feelings are mixed I opened a can of general portion it smelled like dead fish and had a bitter flavor I was not pleased. Second try was Oden portion still a little fishy smell a little cinnamin flavor heavy nic hit and burned like hell but it was O.K. Then tried Phantom blue los baked my first pris by hand very interesting I liked it tiny hint of mint little light on the nicotene. Well I have ordered some other brands to see which I would like.

            Re: WOW!

Don't try to buy Montecristo then, Bladeswitch.

Snus needs some getting used to and I'm still no fan of the traditional pepper-citrus-brands (yeah those with the distinguished dead-fish-taste), but I don't mind using them from time to time, just as an alternation. After a while one is able to taste the more pleasing undertones in these brands. But Montecristo is a brand that I never would recommend to a newbie. The taste is quite monosyllabic and strong and it's far from the outstanding taste of the world-famous cigars.

Try brands like Ettan or Skruf Stark. These brands are very traditional and suitable for allday-use, very flavorful but not as intrusive as some of the other brands, as far as my taste-buds are concerned.

Overall, snus is a very personal thing. It takes some time to find favorites.

            Cheers!

              montecristo

Well to late already ordered some but I also ordered some other brands I have to say I am getting use to Odens portions Wow they are pretty strong but they go well with James Beam Bourbon. I agree with snus being something personal its like buying cigarettes I prefer Winston and I dont vary from that brand its the flavor I like, Cigars I prefer Partagas Series D4. Like you said tastes vary but I have to admit its fun searching.

                  Joy!

I just recieved my tins of Montecristo JOY! The flavor is a little like the first ones I tasted but Im getting used to that flavor now when it comes to Monte it has an effect that the cigars do cigar smokers call it the lump its a feeling thats hard to explain but very pleasurable. Cant wait to tase my Romeo & Julieta Portions.
