Oden's Cinnamon Los review

I wrote this in another thread, but I actually thought this would be good as a review by itself:

Well, I just got my order with 2 tins of Oden's Cinnamon los...

First impressions...really like the tin look. Black on black embossed logo on top...very classy. Smells great...the cinnamon scent really comes through, but not overpowering.

BUT...I've had 3 pris so far....1st one fell to shiz instantly, so I'll chalk that up to improper baking. Used the pris master for the 2nd and 3rd, and really packed it hard. The grain on this is VERY ruff. Looks more like coffee grounds and bakes terribly. Even the ones baked with the pris master. This stuff fell apart in about 15 minutes. Useless there.

Flavor? Well...not bad. I would wish for more cinnamon flavor in taste, but you really get the scent when you breath in with a pris in. That is nice, just too subtle in the taste factor for me.

Why I will cross this off my list....I did get a head rush, which was good because I use sterk snus exclusively (Skruf Stark los, and white portions, Grov Black, and General Extra Sterk - can't wait for that in los). This stuff though gave me a headache after 10 minutes. Not good.

Oden's Cinnamon los beats Thunder by a long shot, but due to the cut/baking quality, headaches, and not as expected flavor. I will not buy this again.

Keep in mind that I am not saying it is a bad snus....it is just NOT for me. Which sucks, cause I was really excited to try it.

Thanks for the review. I wonder if the crumbliness of it is similar to some of the Nordstrommen's stuff. If so, I can bake it. I have some coming in my next order, so I'll post a follow-up in this thread.

Did you try the extra sterk or the regular?

Well, I was under the impression that it only came in extra sterk. It does say extra sterk on the tin though.

I have not tried Nordstrommen, so I can't compare.

Due to my stubbornness I have another pris in right now. I like to give new snus a fair shot, cause sometimes first impressions can be misleading. While it is holding its form so far, I can already tell this will be a pain to take out. The cut is by far the worst part of Oden's so far. Well, that and the headaches. Which I can already tell one is coming.

I've obviously reached my nicotine amount limit at Skruf and Grov Black. General's Extra Sterk is good, too. I have a hard time justifying that there is need for even more nicotine in sterk/stark snus. There has to be a cut off somewhere, we can't just keep having 1 up wars between manufacturers forever. I am thinking Oden's has hit the top.

I would caution people that do not use sterk snus regularly, to go veeeery slow with Oden's. If you are using regular strength snus for your staples, then Oden's is most likely going to take you for a ride.

That makes sense. I think that some of the sterks are definitely pushing the envelope. I use 8mg snus throughout the day, but when I wake up I like a good sterk. Right now I've been using Thunder for that, and it's very nice. I ordered 5 cans of Oden XS and 5 cans of Regular so that I can enjoy the cinnamon flavor and have a few different XS in my inventory for the mornings. Definitely a good idea to limit one's consumption, imo, unless someone wants their tolerance to go through the roof.

Odens Kanel Original is great IMO.

Im not a fan of Sterk Snus so i can not comment on Odens Ekstra Sterk.

The Odens Kanel Original has great Tobacco Flavor with underlying cinnamon taste.

For some reason buysnus only carries their Super Strong kinds but Northerner has their Original 8mg and the 17 mg versions.

I think you should try the original versions and compare unless your a sterk only guy.

After a few more pris of this, I am not getting any better results. No headaches the past two, but still, I can't get past the cut on this. Can't get it to hold its form for longer than 15 minutes. Taking it out is a chore as it just crumbles to mud. I will say though that the flavor is more enjoyable now, but I will refrain from buying this again.

As to buying from Northerner....I've never used them, and I have read good things about them here, but I have not had a single problem with buysnus.com, and I am one of those that follows "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I have found with oden cinammon that using a pris master if I packed it too tight the pris would not hold so well. When I pack it lightly in the prismater it hold very well.

I have been able to keep an oden pris in my mouth for 4 hours with not much trouble. Like thunder snus this stuff just goes on and on.

I am ordering one right now, as part of my first pris order. I was a good old american chew user, and the feel of the portions is getting to me. I am sure it interferes with the taste as well.

Anyway, getsnus.com has the Cinnamon in original, which is good for me. I don't need sterk. On a side note, if anyone knows of another store that ships from the US, let me know. I refuse to order from overseas after having a shipment from Northerner just never show up. Its been almost 2 months now.

I will let everyone know how it goes, but my views on how the pris holds up will probably be worthless.
