    General White portions

    Now in star formation.

Just like General Sterk, Onyx, and Triumph.

"General White Portion 24gr - Now with star formation
We have changed General White Portion 24gr from regular filling of the cans to star formation."

That's good because most people like wedged portions over regular. However, I'm the exception. The wedge doesn't keep the snus in my lip at all. Actually, it seems to make the portion move around even more. Maybe my gums are shaped oddly compared to everyone else.

      I'm indifferent about the shape.

I usually chew on the portion a bit right before I put it in my lip anyway. I try to balance the snus out inside.

I do like the star formation for how they look in the can.

I get a good look at how many portions I have left. That and I never had a can of General Sterk with smooshed portions or ones pinched in the lid like I have with other whites.

I just hope it doesn't make the cost go up.

I usually roll the shaped portions between my fingers and flatten them out. I guess I thought that the only reason they were shaped was for packaging.

I don't use white portions except for Onyx, and Catch Eucalyptus which are only available in that form. It doesn't matter much to me either way, but the star formation does give a sharp appearance. Onyx doesn't have much to distinguish itself as a "premium" product now. I'm not sure SM has made the best choice in this regard.

Visually, I would agree with you. But as far as Onyx goes, the tobacco and taste speak for themselves. That said, I am an Onyx groupie, so it's just my opinion.

Oh, I agree MN_Snuser; Onyx is a first rate snus. I think the packaging should also reflect that though. The packaging should give a feel of luxury, and be set apart from the competitors, even from the same company.

It's like whisky. You could put Chivas Regal Royal Salute in a standard bottle with a screw cap, and the whisky would be just as good as it is in the porcelain bottle; but the container adds to the experience, and sets it apart from the other scotches.

Very true, and I am a sucker for cool packaging.

I don't really like onyx, but I agree. For what they're going for marketing wise, they shoudl start putting it in a metal tin or something. Have the design on it be the same as it is now, but instead make both ends of the can the same as the top of the lucky white portions.

At the moment, I'm enjoying a General Onyx. I like its shape. (And once again, snus has kept me from smoking another cigarette.)

What I like even more is the General White Wintergreen. Why? The flavor is good..reminds me of my Skoal days. Plus, its unique shape. It is shaped like a thin brick..symmetrical..unlike the "star shapes" and vastly superior to the loosely packed bags I get from other General brands..and everything else I've tried, which is a lot.

That is the only portion snus I have tried with that unique shape. It just fits in with my upper gum perfectly and satisfies unlike no other 8 mg piece.

Is there any other portion snus shaped like the above mentioned General White Wintergreen?

p.s. If Ettan had a "thin brick" portion, I would swear I'd died and gone to heaven. It's my morning coffee companion.

Probably be difficult to array brown portions like that and have them evenly coated. Me thinks I'd like to push all those portions over and smash them all down.
