Getting ready to try Phantom Classic. Here's to you, Xobe

Getting ready to try my first pris of Phantom Classic.

Xobeloot recommended I add a can of Phantom Classic and Phantom Blue to my last order... so if it sucks, I have him to blame

Can is open... smells pretty good, but in a weird way. Smells kind of like lysol. Icetool at 2.5 clicks is loading up... and loaded.

Here goes nothin... wish me luck...

I think I made a mistake before putting this pris in.

I ate pizza for lunch and this left a really strong taste of tomato in my mouth. I can't taste hardly anything. Good news is, the pris is staying together very nicely. If I poke it with my tounge I get some flavor, and again it tastes a little like lysol but it is actually kind of pleasant! It is not leaving my mouth dry like Probe did.

Strangely, even though it is Phantom Classic, I am getting hints of juniper. Perhaps they are manufactured so close together some of the juniper taste from Phantom Blue ends up in the Classic? Either that or I am having a Goteburgs Rape hangover from last night

I can't wait to try another when my palate is more prepared.

      Round 2.

3ml Icetool 3 clicks. I must say this is the most perfectly formed and sized pris I have had yet. This stuff shapes and holds together very well.

But I still can't taste anything! However, something is going on, because it is influencing the taste of my Dr. Pepper. It is making it very sweet.

I don't know what to think of this stuff yet... Perhaps it needs more salt to bring out the flavor?

I give it an A++ for texture and consistency though.

It's not salty at all. None of the V2 lös I would consider salty. The flavor I get from the Classic is sweet lemon drop, with a bit of pepper.

Exactly. Add a bit of juniper/herbal notes and it becomes Blue.

          Great stuff!

The more I read about Phantom, the happier I am that it's coming in my next order.

Know what's great about Phantom? It makes all your other snuses taste BETTER!

That's right! I used Phantom Classic los all day and when I brought out the Goteborgs Rape tonight and threw one in it was like 10 times better than I remembered it! It was like a flavor explosion.

Ok, enough of that, but it's true. After about 6 prises of Phantom Classic today I still couldn't get much flavor. The flavor I did get was pretty good. I still can't believe how wonderfully this stuff forms and stays in place. It is just lacking a bit on the flavor.

I'm down to 3 portions left of Lucky Strike White. I absolutely loved these. Great flavor, very salty, yum. Only bad thing is I didn't really dig the white portion. The portion is kind of harsh on the gums for the first 10 minutes or so. Thankfully I have 2 cans of LS Original in the freezer. Tomorrow I'm opening Granit portions. Can't wait to try one.

Good topic. I have compared this snus repeatedly to General and Granit, the other two main snuses which I classify in the "General Snus" flavor profile, a flavor profile that dates back to when multiple different manufacturers each marketed a "General Snus." One time, for the purposes of thoroughness, I put a pris of Granit in one side, and a pris of Phantom in the other..

Here are my thoughts on Phantom:

Phantom tastes like slightly sweet tobacco (nowhere even close to as sweet as OR Original, General Wintergreen, or anything like that), with a lemony citrus, and with undertones of pepper. It is salty, but our tolerance, and in particular the slight sweetness of this snus, neutralizes the saltiness so it doesn't seem as salty as Granit, Grov, or many other snuses. It is very unique, and I think a large part of that is the specific citrus flavor used in it. The sweetness is not overpowering like some of the OR varieties, but it does ensure that the snus will not turn bitter. The texture and grind are perfect, in my estimation. All these reasons are why I love Phantom Classic loose.

Your experience with other snuses tasting better afterward is interesting. Keep us updated on the new ones you try!

Well, almost done with the can... have about 1, maybe 2 prises left and here are my final thoughts:

I'm able to taste more of the flavor. It is very subtle, but does taste slightly sweet with the slightest hint of lemon. The flavor comes and goes. The longer it is in, the more flavor there seems to be.

As I've said before, the cut is perfect. This stuff forms amazingly well and sticks together. I've never had a mudslide with this stuff. Feels awesome in the mouth and lately it's been giving a bit of burn which I absolutely love.

Would I buy it again? Most definitely. I can't wait to try the Phantom Blue.
