**Live Blog Post** Los Snus first time review

I figured, why the hell not?

I love Goteborgs Rape and #2 so I figured I would get a tin of Rape Los.

I am going to update this as I use it for the first time tonight. Yah, I am that bored!

Starting off, the can has a cardboard base. I read that most cans do, but it's funny seeing it after using portions for so long.

When I placed my order I didn't buy an icetool or a prismaster so it's all hand baking for me!

    On to the good stuff:

    Smell:

It smells almost exactly like GB Rape which is nice. I had to wipe a bit of drool off my chin as I was checking it out.

    The Tobacco:

It almost has a powdery feel to it. it is very moist and it forms up very well. I like the feel of it in my hand!

    The first pris:

I grabbed about the same amount that is in a portion and worked it up a bit in my hand. It balled up nicely and then I rolled it a bit into a little cylinder.

Once it was satisfied with its shape, i popped it right in!

Initially there isn't any taste (much like a regular portion). I'll check back in in about a half hour to let everyone know how its going.

Looks like I made it about 20 minutes and got a hard core case of mud mouth :P

I think I'll try another, but pack it as much as I can

    Take 2!!

I am never a guy to say quit so I got inventive:

    A straw

    A new pencil

    A can of snus

    Cut the straw in half

Stuff in some snus and compact it with the pencil, push it out and shove it in!

Let's see how this one goes

      FAAAAAAACK!

I forgot my golashes! The mud, the mud I tell yas!

      Ok, that's enough for me.

I'll try again in the morning. I'll lower lip it and see where that gets me.

Back to your regularly schedule forum posts!

You might want to rethink the lower lip. If you thought your upper lip went to mud quickly.... :^D

You really should not need a tool to use that snus. It is very easy to bake. Give it some more tries and maybe start off with small prillas. Hope it works out for you.

            I have some advice.

Knowing how I use portions I am going to take this approach.

First I would think by now you have a nice "pocket" in your lip for placement. So this is not a factor.

Second I'm going to assume you're not baking a monster pris.

So after you get your snus baked just right. Not too firm, not too loose.
Pop it in your lip, tuck it into the perfect, mot comfortable position, and...... leave it alone.

See when I use portions I poke em and prod em and toss em around. Well with loose snus you gotta get your snus legs before you even give it a lick.

I know you can do it. We're all rooting for you. Don't give up.

It helps if you have something to do at first, like reading the news, or doing something to distract you from the nice little piece of heaven you got going on in your lip.

By the end of that can you'll be a pro. I'm sure.

Ainkor, take it from me, a guy who passionately loves portions, that whole mud mouth thing is temporary. I am guessing you might be almost subconciously wetting it, looking for the taste and all that.

Eventually, in my admittedly short period of experimenting with los, I learned to just leave the damn thing alone and it wouldn't turn to mud. Towards the end I could have a pris in for 2 hours and it would still be intact.

As for flavor, well, I never did discover that part. I think I just abuse the hell out of the portions in my mouth so they are always quite strong tasting. i could never even come close to replicating that taste with los.

As I keep saying, yes you Snuson folks who seem to worship the los gods, I WILL be giving it another chance soon, will even be picking up an ice tool to really give it a fair shake.

But Ainkor, do always remember that you don't have to actually like los. What I decided a year ago and have been happily living in my portion ghetto ever since.

You can mess with los if you're using the right kind. Certain brands like Skruf (easiest), Montecristo, Roda, and others (please insert suggestion here) can be removed and replaced wondrously. You can even switch sides. Others are more finely cut and turn to mud if you mess with them. Don't give up yet! But definitely throw a prismaster into your next order. Most sites will include it for free if you order some los. I haven't made the jump to icetool yet, although I will. I am currently pleased with my prismaster or hand-baking with vertain brands, although I know it gets better with an icetool. Good luck!

Watch the handbaking video. Trust me. Practice and you'll soon be a pro.

After handbaking and using a prismaster for about about a month, the icetool does soo much more for making my pris stay longer. Maybe I just suck at handbaking, but it's my personal experience.

Soon though, sometime in the next few months at least.
