Nick & Johnny East and West Discontinued

The East and West varieties will be discontinued starting May 1st, 2009, due to low sale volumes. It's not loss for me, since I didn't like the West and never tried the East, due to poor reviews. For the full story, click the link below.

I never like to see a snus discontinued, but I have to say it's no loss to me either.

West was one of the first snus I tried and I liked it. I found plenty of others I liked just as well or better, though, that had 24 portions in the can. I may pick up one or two more before May though.

I got a free can of East one time. I couldn't get past the smell. IDK. It's sad to lose a snus, but perhaps a new one will take it's place.

I hope the N&J line rolls out an Ekstra Sterk snus! Perhaps it could dethrone Thunder Snus with 18mg/portion?

You can't judge by that. A lot of very good snus has been discontinued because people stick with their old standbys. It would be like a brand new Cigarette, from a brand new maker in America. It might be the best smoke ever made, but people will keep buying their Marlboros and Newports, and won't give it a shot.

I actually like the Nick and Johny West. I always ordered one can in every order, despite the rip off on total number of portions per can.

I liked having a strong white portion.

I guess Skruf Stark white will have to do now.

Way overpriced for what they were......they do seem to get rid of new flavors rather quick, though. I don't think they give them the time for people to acquire a taste for them.

Me kind of liked the cans but I'll not miss either one. I really wish there were more old school oval cans like the old Landstromms ones or the really old Ettan ones.

The flavors were just forgettable and boring to begin with. I'd be interested in the regular N&J released with normal nic content, though......even though it will never happen. Bringing back the los would be a nice idea, also.

I think we all saw this coming, anything that starts its marketing with a pitch that implies something is the hip, cool new version of a classic item always seems destined to fail. Ultimately only trendy in the shortterm. Still remember the cheesy pitch on buysnus when it was launched, it wasn't terrible snus, but the price vs. amount probably turned a lot of people off.

Oh man, I'd so love to have a loose version of it. I really have to wonder whether or not SM is kicking itself for discontinuing that one. I hope it is, at least enough to fire the dude who was in charge around that time and thought East and West were good ideas.
