V2 test review - Banana

I have to admit, i approached tonights test with some bias already. Banana snus?? Not in a million years would I ever go, "hmm, I wish they would make a banana snus". But I promised I would test everything so....

Smell - smells a bit like bananas, sort of. Maybe more like banana cream pie. Strange, not really an enjoyable smell

Looks - light brown and very moist.

Flavor - the first thing that hits you is an overwhelming sweetness, with a significant salty undertone. Then for the next few minutes, almost this sweet and sour sensation as some of the initial juice is quite bitter, mixed in with the sweetness. Does it taste like bananas?? Not really, maybe an attempt at fake bananas, but not the real thing. The flavor dies down very fast. The remaining flavor isn't horrible, but not sure I like it in any way. Far better flavors I would rather be tasting.


This is my 2nd one of the night, had one earlier when it was still frozen. Not the worst snus in the world, but strange enough with nothing compelling about it. Need more research time but, assuming nothing changes, not one I would recommend V2 bring out.

About 15 minutes into it, I am gonna get rid of it, The after taste on this one is just really off to me.

Thanks for the review. That's about what I'd expect. There's just something wrong about bananas and tobacco :^D

sounds like they made this one up on a dare, or they where up late drinking trying to think of new flavors.

Considering we have seen other fruit flavors, i.e. Apple, Mandarine, Pomegranite(not V2), etc, seeing Banana is not a complete shock. I suppose we should expect Sage to come back with Pineapple or Grapefruit soon. :twisted:

I'm confused :? . Will these testers, if they pass the test and go on to be sold commercially, be Offroad, or Phantom? Or is there another line that V2 are going to bring out, like "Frus"? If you can't answer and this info is 'eyes only', sage, I'll understand. I'm just really curious, as I use a lot of V2. Plus I have a mandate from the Wookie-Lord to try Phantom. :lol:

Honestly, I don't know. I *think* they are just gonna be a limited edition kind of thing, but I don't really know the background here.

Ah ok, no worries. By the sound of the clove review, here's hoping it's not just a limited edition then gone. I guess this is how new flavours get started though.

I saw that you were going to be testing this flavor, and it prompted a conversation at work about "banana flavored" anything...lol

I can honestly say that I haven't tasted ANYTHING that a man has produced and attempted to make it taste like bananas, has ever really tasted like a banana. Maybe I'm biased, cuz I love monkey chow. It's portable, comes in it's own "easy to open" wrapper, it's good for you, and it tastes great..lol

I do however like that a tobacco company is stepping outside of the box and trying to market newer flavors to increase selection options for potential buyers. I commend V2 for that.

Keep it up guys, I love reading the reviews. The only thing that would be better is me getting to test them too..lol

To answer the question that was asked as to what these testers are:

V2 does an Offroad limited edition set once per year. This will be the 2009 set.
