V2 test review - Mango Cream

I'll kick this one off. I'm still thinking, but as with the Mandarin, I'm impressed with a certain authenticity of the Mango flavor. It's not a sickly sweet Mango candy flavor, it tastes like it was derived from the real fruit. This one started off to me very salty, but that could be because of my recent over-use of General dry mini mint portions at work all last week. About 15 minutes in, the Mango flavor has mellowed a bit, as has the saltiness. Granted, I'm a Mango-flavor fan in general, but I'd have to say that V2 has a winner on their hands with this one. I'm willing to bet that other testers will disagree with me though, and I'll report back later...

I am looking forward to it. From what you describe, it seems consistent with the other flavors I have tried. That initial saltiness as the flavor comes on.I'm looking forward to the mango in a few days. I already have tomorrow's picked out, sorta like my reward for enduring the moonshine tonight.

I agree with Pony. There is a sweetness to this one, but it's a natural sweetness, not added sugar. Very real taste. Almost like smelling a fresh cut mango. Sage, you will understand this, it reminds me of the natural flavors in Toque's fruit snuffs. Like V2 took the tobacco and squeezed the fruit over it. I don't get a cream taste, just smoooooth mango.

So far this is fighting Mandarine for #1, but I have high hopes for the vanilla.

I just love how long these new flavors last. I had a mango in for almost 2 hours today, and it was still giving flavor.

I have noticed one similarity in all the new V2 flavors. The reviewers are reporting that the test snus retains it's flavor for a long period of time. That's personally something that I enjoy in a snus.

I tend to keep one in for about two hours or something like that, only swapping it out when I need another nic hit. To me, it's after you've had one in for awhile that the more subtle flavors can come through.

This one sounds like something that I'd really enjoy, in fact several of the new V2 flavors sound good, maybe I'm just hungry..lol

Yes, this has been consistent with every new snus I have tried. And obviously, just for the flavors I have liked, it is a big, big thing to me. And most importantly, after about 20 minutes, the flavor settles down and is never obtrusive. i notice it occasionally, but don't ever grow tired of it.

This is a big, big thing for me. One of the reasons I have gravitated to mostly whites as I will usually leave a portion in for a long, long time when i am distracted by life.

Yeah, I have to agree with all of you guys. It's a nice mellow flavor. Not sweet and very natural tasting, not artificial at all. The flavor just settles in, stays in the background and lasts a good long time. I think we did a Vulcan mind meld on this one.

I have to disagree with you RobME. It is very sweet right at first, say the 1st minute. At least, right out of the freezer. Curious as to what I think after I have my 2nd, a bit warmed up. But then the sweetness dies down and it is a realy enjoyable, mellow flavor. Again, as everyone else has said, it simply tastes like Mango, the fruit. Not some interpretation of Mango

But... I am really liking!! I didn't taste much saltiness at all, but will absolutely agree with ponysoprano and say this is a winner. I will wait till at least after my 2nd to rank it with the rest I have tried. But it will definitely go into my I think V2 should make it vote. More later....

Hold on there Bucko,... I meant to type, "Not [overtly] sweet and very natural tasting,..." So throw that word into my third sentence - and the rest sticks. Cause it's like, exactly what you're saying. So we're like agreed. I think. OK?

Can I get an Amen on that one sagedil? Huh? Come on man! Gimmee a pass on that one. 8)

                    Amen brother.

And I think we all agree that this one is a winner. But I am curious to explore if my initial reaction was just cause it was coming straight from the freezer or if I will taste it again the 2nd time. It just came on with a birts of sweetness. Something i am noticing in most if not all of these V2 portions is the increadble taste that hits immediately. These do NOT start out subtle. Like you are smacked in the face with flavor, that then quickly fades out into this really mellow, super long lasting flavor. I can't think of any other snus that does it like these do.

Well... I just put a new portion in just to check out what you said (I keeps mine in da fridge); and...

I have to disagree with you sagedil. I don't think it's sweet at all right at first. As a matter of fact (well not really fact - just my own take on it) I think it's even a bit salty to start.

But yeah this one's very good, and you're spot on sage, when you say they all start off with a very intense taste. They certainly do.

                      Later,

OK, so I just put mt 2nd in moments ago, this one much closer to room tempature, and I have to agree. MUCH sltier than my first, and much less sweet this go around.

Wanna play a cool experiment. Put one of yours in the freezer, freeze till it's rock hard (for another time, these V2 portions freeze much harder than any other snus, higher moisture content?)

Once frozen, take it out, roll it through your fingers for a moment to soften it up, then put it in. I promise, you will be wowed by how sweet it comes off. Seems these flavors are increased significantly the colder it is. Tomorrow, I will try a middle ground and take one out of the refrigerator.

So, last snus of the night, perhaps one more. Traditionally, this has been my Triumph moment. I just loved the sweetness of Triumph as I started to think about heading to bed. Like my reward for the day, a true desert snus, in every way that word means.

But tonight, I decided I wanted a Mango snus. And wow, it really is just the prefect end to the day. Some sweetness, but more importantly, just a great strong taste. Something different that just grabs you. And then it will fade into a wonderful long mellow flavor that I really can leave in for another 2 hours if that is how long I stay up.

This could even knock off my beloved clove for # 1 before all is finally done.
