    V2 Test Review... Lemon Dew

    Smell... Like lemon dishwashing soap.

Look... Looks like the others, light brown, almost reddish orange.Moist.

Taste We have a loser. It tastes like it smells. Dishwashing detergent. It's bitter, it's chemical/fake tasting. Actually it tastes a like the outside of the lemon. You know the part most people throw away. I had one portion in for 30-35 minutes and that was all I could take, the taste never changed. I tried a second portion a 1/2 hour later and could only stomach it for 5 minutes.

Sorry Patrick, but this one is too horrible to even try again.

I have heard privately from one tester that they really liked this. I am curious to try it as I greatly enjoyed the citrus notes in the Mandarin.

And thank you TBD for jumping in and being the first with this. Just three more testers to go.

And Patrick, once we are all done with this, I am really curious as to how YOU rank the flavors.

I'll give it another shot tomorrow. I'm still scarred today.

Although mixing this with the moonshine.....kamikaze???? OK, Maybe towards the end of the test.

I'm going to have to agree with TBD.

This one really has a powerful lemon oil scent but it's to the point of being overpowering.

I must say this, the scent is not Bergamot. It's definatly lemon which explains the lemon scented dish soap TBD is getting. Bergamot would give a Windex type scent like the one that Phantom Blue has. Sorry Xobe!

The same scent carries on to the flavor but, here's where I can taste a subtile soapy flavor. (Don't ask! I swore alot as a kid! ) It's not a "wow, I feel like I'm sucking on a lemon flavored bar of soap" but, it is there in the background.

I used Lemon Dew all day today with keeping a portion in for up to 2 hours and the flavor lasted for just as long. The encouraging thing about Lemon Dew is that after about 30 minutes, the flavor began to mellow out and some peppery notes came out. The lemon flavor, imho, is really too strong. If Patrick could tone it down, it could be a really good flavor.

Overall, as Lemon Dew is currently, I'd have to say that it's not for me. The lemon flavor is too powerful and makes the snus taste off.

Does it maybe need a little more sweetness to bring it closer to a lemon drop or is the sweet there and the lemon just overpowers?

Here to provide another perspective on Lemon Dew. Upfront, I have to say that I think it's excellent! With an exclamation point! but I didn't initially feel this way. I'm on my third portion after two days and at first, I didn't like it.

This new batch of flavors (I received nine of them) all seem to be pretty wet to start. The Lemon Dew isn't as wet as some of the others. I usually never spit the snus juice (some folks do), but in those that are too wet to start, I do initially suction it, and spit it out once but that's it.

Lemon Dew starts wet, and I think the co-mingling of the lemon flavor with the tobacco flavor initially combines to serve-up a "soapy" kind of taste, but that quickly passes - so - I'm not entirely disagreeing with TBD's point of view.

After a short time the flavor settles in. Both the lemon and tobacco favors recede somewhat, the tobacco moreso. There's always a very nice hint of (what I consider to be) a natural lemon flavor. This isn't sweet, not at all and it isn't salty either. Not strong, not weak - it's just there staying gently in the background, and it doesn't seem to fade. It lasts a nice long time.

I'd say this snus is very easy to take, and for some - me included among them - this can easily be an all-day snus.

I think it's great and I hope it's one to make the final cut.
