This is a very interesting flavor. I am going to need more time with it to truly disect it. One thing I can say as fact is that this snus if absolutely fantastic with some India Pale Ale!

I am enjoying this one quite a bit. Will do a full flavor review tomorrow

      Cheers!
Ohh jeez, they were behind that crap? I was new to snus this last Christmas, and ordered two different "julesnus". I think I may have written reviews on both, and just said something like "this one is SO much better then the other. The other just reminds me of Tiny Chicklets gum"

Interesting flavor though. Perhaps once they figured out how to give snus a good clove taste, they looked for something else they could use the clove flavoring for. Cinnamon snus is already there, so just add the clove and a couple other things and there you go! Maybe that is why they would bring out an odd flavor like this.

I'm going to try this flavor for the first time tonight. I've been smelling it for the past two nights, and to me it smells like some sort of baked cake or even (at times) a little bit like cherry pie.

Personally, I highly enjoyed the Nordstrommen Julesnus and will order it again next December. I still have a can in the freezer. I enjoyed it more than the Gotland's Julesnus because it was slightly sweeter and seemed a lot more flavorful.

          Spekulatius Review

          Scent/Appearance
The portions are moist and full, and look somewhat speckled. The scent ranges from vanilla cinnamon angelfood cake to cherry pie to generic cookie. It's like a miniature olfactory bakery in a snus can! It smells great.

          Flavor/Comparison

The snus tastes like sugar cookies, nilla wafers, or ginger snap cookies to me, but less sweet. What sweetness there is seems to mellow out as time goes on, leaving a medley of baking spices on the palate. At this point my mouth tastes like I ate a cinnamon sugar cookie a couple of minutes ago. I detect faint notes of vanilla, cinnamon, maybe cloves, a buttery flavor (could be the almond some people are identifying), and a background sweetness that is hard to pinpoint. To me, this snus does not taste like Julesnus, but it seems like there are some essences they share in common.

          Conclusion
It is difficult for me to draw a conclusion on this snus at this point. It is unique and tasty, which would definitely make it good for a limited edition. I do not think it would do well if it were a regularly produced snus, but it would work for a limited run or a holiday edition. I will update with my final conclusion after I try this a couple more times.

So finally tonight tried it. Perhaps both the first AND the last to try a flavor, but just seemed to want to drag this out a bit, truly have enjoyed this entire process immensely. And not just getting to try new flavors first (and yes that does please me) But this whole process of getting to share nn the experience with a bunch of other folks I have so much respect for, and trying to describe as best as I possibly can what these are like for everyone else...It just has been a very cool process.

So I need a bunch more time with this one to get too specific. But two things I wanted to post about it now.

The smell!!!! This is one of the most pleasant smelling snus I ever have smelled. It is amazingly cool. And it smells like something from my past. Something so specific I just can't put a word on. But something. Not close, exactly like. And I can't remember what but I get a really happy feeling when I smell it.

I think everyone is making a big mistake with this snus when you are trying to identify the different flavors used to construct it. I think that may be why so many have struggled to describe it. I think this snus is meant to just have, and enjoy the flavor as is without even thinking about what went into it. The point isn't the pieces, the point is the flavor at the junction of those pieces. It s a symphony that needs to be taken as a whole. It is the combination of flavors that only comes alve when you put those flavors together.

I think this may go down as the most amazing snus I ever had. Am absolutely loving every moment with it. And it's not even that sweet. To me, at least, far less sweet than the cloves. It is lighter as well. The cloves are very heavy with the clove taste. it is quite strong. This flavor, although perfectly distinct and present, isn't as bossy if you will?

So yes, more to come, but I love this snus!!! And know what cookies to find next Christmas. and to the question about if it makes a good snus, a big absolutely yes it does!!!!

We seem to have a competition going for the number one spot now. On to round 2.
