Gotlandssnus Container

Hi all,

So I received my shipment today from Buysnus, which included the Nordstrommen special edition, and two cans of Gotlandsnus (grey and yellow los). I noticed like everytime that customs opened it to check, and everything was inside, however one of the cans was completely open. There was anise flavored snus EVERYWHERE, even inside the special edition box! I am pretty upset because I love the smell of it but I didn't want to put any of that in my mouth, and I was really looking forward to it.

Have any of you had this happen before? The containers for Gotlandssnus don't have the paper seal like most of the cans of snus and snuff I have, which I believe may have averted this situation. But I do like their can designs anyway. Perhaps it is a matter of how the seller ships the snus? I don't want to point fingers but I just feel like this shouldn't have happened. Anyway, I'll be ordering that snus again sometime in the future because it seems so good.

Gotlands makes the best cans IMO.

They seal very nicely and this had to hav been customs or something.

Gotlands cans seal better than any other can ive seen on the market.

Maybe it was customs, there is a big dent on the lid where you normally put your fingers to open the container. Seems like everyone who finds this snus mysterious will try every way to open it besides pulling up. I had a friend try to unscrew the top off.

That actually surprises me. The Gotland tins have some of the best seals in the business. Were there any rips in the envelope? I'm guessing that it received *severe* trauma, or it was opened by customs, and not closed correctly(not sure how you'd screw that up though :^D)

That is strange. I agree with the others that gotlands has the best fitting cans that you can get. It almost had to have been messed with.

Yep, Gotlands tins have the tightest lids out of any I've ever seen. It definitely didn't just fall off.

I'd be willing to bet that the mook who checked your package tried to open it and ended up spraying the contents everywhere when the lid finally let go.

Can't say much that hasn't already been said. Gotlands has the ultimate tongue-in-groove lid. I think the customs people just chunked it back in without clicking the lid shut.

I've noticed that the snus in Gotlandssnus cans stays fresh for very long periods of time. While a can of Swedish Match loose dries up in a week, Gotlandssnus loose will stay fresh and moist for several months.
