In this thread I am going to finalize my rankings and evaluations of the V2 Test Samples I reviewed. They are all excellent snuses (except banana). Although it is a difficult task, I am going to rank them in a list, in the hopes that V2 will benefit from our collective rankings and feedback. I would like to state explicitly that I am very impressed with these snuses; they are extremely well-crafted and most of the flavors are very true to their names. Currently, these rankings are subject to change as I try some of the flavors again and further hone my opinions.
(Ranked From Best to Worst)
1. Clove
This snus is by far my favorite out of the test samples. It is a unique flavor that has not been done yet in the snus world, and due to its popularity in other products, I believe it will be a popular snus. It is extraordinarily well-balanced and expertly crafted.
2. Dark Vanilla
I loved this snus in the Nordstrommen's Limited Edition Loose, and I love it in portions. Like clove, vanilla is a popular flavor throughout the world, and I believe it will be very popular on the snus market. It is mellow and boasts a refinement that makes it like a fine pipe tobacco (as opposed to a cheaply flavored vanilla cigarette). Personally, I think this snus would be great in a limited edition.
3. Spekulatius
This snus tastes like a sugar cookie! It's a great desert snus and is very unique. The flavor is well-balanced and has a depth and complexity to it which seems to characterize many of the snuses in this test sample. I think this snus is a perfect one to include in a limited edition.
4. Mandarin
This is yet another flavor that tastes very similar to its Nordstrommen Loose counterpart. More mellow than mango, it is a refreshing and laid back orange flavor with undertones of a smooth tobacco and saltiness. Simply superb!
5. Ananas
Laid back pineapple flavors mingle with a coconut sweetness in this unique snus. Salty and sweet, it is a truly tropical snus. What I really appreciate about this snus is how it seems like a mixture of flavors which keeps it from becoming boring.
6. Mango
This snus is very true to its name, and tastes just like fresh mangos. The flavor is very strong. The reasons I do not rank it higher are because it is not as complex or balanced as some of the others, and because I'm not a big fan of fresh mangos.
7. Moonshine
This snus tastes just like alcohol, reminding me of the aftertaste of white wine. It is well-crafted, but in my opinion is not as refined as some of the other flavors.
8. Lemon Dew
This snus would be excellent, were it not for the soapy aftertaste I find in it. The lemon is good, but the aftertaste is not. Sorry Patrick, I think that so many of the other test samples are better than this one.
9. Banana
Out of all of the test samples, this is the only one that I do not like. It doesn't much taste like bananas, but rather like old, overly-ripe fruit. Good try, but this one was not a success.
