Well, now that the big event at work is over, I would like to give my thoughts on V2 and Patrick's efforts on the 9 test flavors!
First, I'd like to thank Patrick for all his efforts in creating these new flavors and giving me the opportunity to test them as well.
I've tested 5 of the 9 so far and here are my thoughts:
• Sweet Clove: So far, the top flavor in my opinion. This snus really has a defined clove flavor which is really addicting. For those of you that transitioned to Swedish snus from the now discontinued Camel Spice, will find Sweet Clove a familiar flavor. This snus would also fill the clamoring for a snus that has a sweeter flavor. But, if you’re not into cloves, it’s not for you.
• Spekulatius: Like I said in a prior post, this snus would be a great Julesnus flavor! Spekulatius’ flavor really reminds me of Gingerbread and Pfefferneusse cookies I love during Christmas time! My only issue here is that i wished the flavor would last a bit longer. I got about 1 to 1 1/2 hours out of a portion but since the norm is 30 to 45 minutes, it really is not that big of an issue.
• Mandarin: This one really surprised me. I expected to get the flavor of the canned Mandarin orange slices my wife buys. I was surprised by the fact that they didn’t! They actually tasted like fresh off the tree Tangerines! (I grew up in Western Florida and still visit Orlando yearly) This flavor brings back memories for me when I was a kid. The only issue I have with this one is the fact that they are a bit too juicy. Could just be from them being a limited run but, figured I bring it up.
• Dark Vanilla: Another surprising flavor! While the scent is of Vanilla, the flavor is another story. I get an earthy vanilla flavor. I think it’s because of the tobacco. I say this because there is more of a salty flavor with Dark Vanilla. Some would think that a vanilla flavored snus would be sweet, not in this case but, that’s not a bad thing. It’s refreshing actually.
• Lemon Dew: This one I really didn’t care for in its current form. The lemon flavor is really too overpowering. Even after leaving the top off the can overnight, the flavor did calm down but still was dominating. I’d like to see Lemon Dew have a little less lemon flavor so the tobacco can peek thru.
This list is also in order of what I liked and disliked, so far. I’ll post another short review of the other 5 and compile my final list this weekend.
Again Patrick, you and your team have really created some flavors that have the ability to turn the snus world on its head, for the better!
As always, Happy Snusing!
Rob
