Price of American Dip vs. Swedish Snus

You know, amongst the dozens of reasons why snus is better than american dip is the price difference.

When i was in the army I was ont eh east coast or in the south most of the time and it costs about 3-4$ for a can of dip which is reasonable given the convenience and availability, but in California here on the west coast where I live now) tis like 7-8$ per can!!! I go through a can a day so this was immediately a no go. The fact that I can import snu FROM SWEDEN overseas for less than 4$ per can when you include shipping is phenominal.

Is northerner.com and buysnus.com the best place to buy? Is one better than the other? I ordered from northerner one time and I am about to re-up so was wondering what your suggestions were about the best place to buy.

We all have our favorites and opinions. Historically, I used mostly Buysnus with an order here and there with Northerner. For the moment, Northerner's prices are significantly better, and they have a better bonus program, so I have swapped with Northerner getting my primary business. Some folks here also use Getsnus.com. Located here in the US, shipping is often fatster, but a much smaller inventory. Most of what I love they don't carry so I have never ordered from them. Besides, I like getting my snus from Sweden!!


Snus cut my tobacco budget by about 70%. Not only do I pay far less for a can of snus than a pack of cigarettes, I use about 70% less than when I smoked. I went through two packs a day and a can lasts me close to 2 days.

I went on a skoal kick this past week and went through a can or so a day @ $4/can.

Typically, a can of my favorite loose snus lasts me 2 days +/- @ about $1.70/can.

There is always the consideration that you get 11g more per can with snus, but snus by nature just lasts longer and takes less to get the job done.

I still like a good spitter or smoke now and again, but snus is where my heart is.
