Why on EARTH do they not sell swedish snus in America?

I knwo you can order it but it takes like 2 weeks toget ehre from northerner, I wish they sold snus at gas stations or AT ELAST at tobacco shops. I know they sell the Camel Frost but thats the weakest shit ever, at the max it MAY stave off a craving for all of 20 minutes before you get to some real snus.

Is there some reason (legal) why they dont sell snus in America or am I just not going to the right places. I live in California btw (where taxes on smokeless are so high we pay double what they do in the south and east coast).

They do sell General and a couple of other SM snus products in some tobacco shops now. You can do a search for the nearest store on the General or SM websites. It is best to look on both as they seem to list different stores on both. It is extremely expensive in the store here in Phoenix.

More of a market-acceptance thing than anything else. As noted, General is available here and there, and they seem to be trying to roll out across the country. Swedish Match makes Red Man (through Pinkerton) so they already have a distribution network in the US.

If General catches on, look for the dam to break, and with that comes taxation, adulteration, legislation... crap. I would prefer that snus remain below the radar here in the US.

BTW, Northerner is usually much faster than that, at least to Kansas. Stock up!

Imagine if Johnny Depp or some other well-known smoker switched to snus. The market would be flooded within a few months.

From what I have heard, Swedish Match is setting up a plant here, so that all might change soon.

Go here to see if there is someplace close to you that sells it. Unfortunately though, they are only selling a very few varieties through shops.

Bah... I'm content ordering from Sweden. If it gets too readily available around here it will just be a matter of time before they tax the hell out it (and demonize Snus users/manufacturers in the process).

Politicians are always looking for something new to tax... its easier than learning how to manage the budget they already have.

((Irony: Sweden has crazy high taxes... but I'm still more worried what the U.S. Left-Coast will do once they notice Snus))

It's just smart business; they don't want to waste money by trying to sell large amounts of a perishable product that most people have never heard of. Just give it some time...

You know, you would think that, but the majority of dip users that I've let sample snus just don't get it. I can only think of one dipper I've "converted", but even then, he still alternates between snus and Cope.

Wow, I'm glad I looked on General's website. There's a cigar store under a mile from my house that apparently sells General snus, which just happens to be my favorite at the moment. Good news for me.

I'm good with ordering it from Sweden, as once it goes "mainstream" in the U.S. the government will want it's cut. We all know how bad that can be. I personally don't want the current administration to have ANY more money to spend...lol

Saying, "I order it from Sweden", is far cooler than saying you get it from 7-11 anyway.

Well Snus turned me on to Cope, so there ya go.

Snus will be rolled out in America. There is a growing market here. Its really expensive to roll out to the US because its so huge. Unit sales would have to justify it being in every gas station.

                            Be very quiet!

I don't know where you live but on the West Coast of the US it takes anywhere from 3 to 6 days to get a shipment from Sweden using most online stores.

I am beginning to not want Snus under the radar or in the sights of the US Government since they've gone TAX HAPPY like Europe.

Just today... a Dollar increase on all tobacco products.

What is the most common crime in Europe?... Tax Evasion. What will be the United States most common crime under THE RED GUARD OF OBAMA?... Tax Evasion.

By ordering Snus from Sweden I am not Evading Taxes - I am Avoiding Taxes. LOL!

Keep our secret - SECRET! (except among close friends, good coworkers, and family)

What is the first rule of Fight Club - DON'T TALK ABOUT FIGHT CLUB!

So, you're suggesting that when someone asks us what that is underneath our lip, we punch them in the mouth to avoid answering the question? :P
