I noticed that no where I have bought snus from like northerner or buysnus actually check your age, they ask your age yes but they dont verify it in any way. Do you think this will be a problem in the future of snus buying? Will activists say that they are selling to minors?
On-line snus distributers dont even verify your AGE??

But I mean why dont they have cigarette vending machines in public places, if you can just use a credit card to verify age. You just use someone elses, it just seems that some would see this as a lack of effort to verify age, not that I care, its just one less step in the lengthy process of getting SNUS here.

More on point, getsnus.com (State-side) does use the last four digits of the buyer's SSN to verify age. My guess is that the Scandinavian sites aren't required by law to verify age, at least of foreigners, so they don't. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I am all for 'age verification,' and think verification via credit card is NOT enough proof. Since I am of legal age, I would not mind sending a copy of my ID to companies. When I buy tobacco products in the store, I have to show some identification, online should be no different. This could just be another way for tobacco retailers to show they are doing their part in following laws. I know it would be easy to alter an ID (photoshop) but at least the company could claim they did take steps to abide by laws. I don't think it would be too difficult to send my ID to Northerner, for example, just one time and they could either keep it on file or add a checkmark next to an "Age Verified" section of my profile.

I agree, because there are too many watchdog groups that feed on shit like this. The companies should go the extra step to ask for age verification to show that they are operating in full ocmpliance of the law, beacuse soon they will be accused of marketing discrete tobacco products flavored like candy and energy drinks and the whole thing will get shut down.

Screw that, it's already a pain in the ass to order out of country, now you want to add another step to the process? We're all adults here (I hope), I have been of legal age to consume tobacco for 12 years, I shouldn't have to be bothered with sending identification overseas. Remember, folks, this product is not being purchased within the United States, a cop isn't going to give Northerner a citation for selling tobacco to children, they're not subject to our laws or our taxes (providing the order is under 200 cans). Furthermore, with my experience being a teenager once and being surrounded by them day in and day out these days, a kid will always find a way around the system!!

no i agree i dont think they should veriffy age cause tis a pain and kids can get it anyways, but I am saying I hope it doesnt draw heat to SNUS from american lawmakers. Especially since Camel Snus is already getting banned from some areas.
Headlines read "Websites allow minors to purchase exotic tobacco products from foreign countries with no request for age verification and allow americans to circumvent tobacco taxes which fund CHILDRENS HEALTHCARE"
I know its retarded but theres a mob mentality in america, as soon as they paint it bad its bad forever. Look at weed.
