Does anyone know what makes Strong Snus strong? Is it a higher grade of Tobacco or do they just adjust the ph of the Snus to make it release more Nictoine? It's just I find strong Snus seems to have a stronger flavour.

Originally posted by ZeroIt may also be a stronger tobacco, but it is definitely, at least, a higher pH - hence the extra burn from stark snus.

Just tried my 1st Maxi portion. Got some F&L Granit Maxis and as I suspected they taste very similar to Diplomats (I'm glad to say) What a bump under the lip and a great Nic hit !

I've often wondered about loose. Does loose irritate the throat/mouth more than portions? It's just I remember when I 1st used portions I used to get a sore throat and mouth but have since adapted to them and don't seem to get any problems these days.

You may have to get used to loose, I started on it but it took me ages to get used to portions.
The obvious differences; baking the prilla and getting little bits in your mouthbut you get used to these after a while. As for taste, sensation, strength and texture it is far superior. And an average prilla (3rd mark on the icetool for me) is actually less snus then a maxi portions.
Why not try ordering a can of maxi and a can of loose (say diplomat as i know you like those portions) and see what happens!

Just out of interest which markings on the Icetool represent the amount of an original portion and a maxi?

Now I think about it I'm not actually sure :S Zero posted a picture describing it in some thread.
I believe that each notch represent 0.5ml and a maxi portion is 2grams so it should work out as 4 notches is 2grams. 2 notches would be the same as a normal portions.
Although it is not really comparable because the surface area for loose is greater so you getting a better high/flavour
* EDIT * I mean to say hit not highops: that was a bit of a freudian slip

Go Leafs Go! (sorry, couldn't resist)
