OK - Got my sample from Tom.

First: Tom is top notch - asked for them Saturday, got them today. 8 packs.

Plus - got the bonus Swedish test.

Opinion: Tried the peach - nice flavor. Sweet - so make sure you like sweet.

Swedish: Wonderful!!! Really - if Tom goes to market with this it is the answer to my question: best snus for best price. This stuff is mild, no sweet. Salt. Swedish basically.

It has a hint of bergamot and low tobacco flavor. Just a nice mild snus. If he wants he could spice it up a bit with pepper and add some tobacco flavor or something. But doesn't have to.

Thanks Sage for sending me to these.

Thanks Tom for the sample. Go to market with the Swedish and I'll buy.

Well, everything I have said, I mean in a constructive way. I personally don't want an American made snus that's "ok" to good, I want one that is comparable to my fave Swedish brands, to where I think, wow, this is just as good, or maybe better. Now I have said I thought the Discreet swede tests did have a decent taste. I will put some in the box passes too. But, as I have tried a few now, it's just not what I prefer. And if me, or anyone, can help guide the process in it's making, I'd like to see it really be a rival, as I sit here with a Skruf in my mouth.

Now, like I said, all I say, I mean in a positive constructive way.
This is all my personal opinions and suggestions.
I think the swede test Discreet does have a pleasant salty tobacco taste.
But what is it mssing, to be a rival of the Swedish brands?
1st, it needs to be 1g regular size portion.
Flavor... maybe needs some pepper, and maybe some slight citrus, but not sweet.
Tobacco base, if possible, should be moist. That's my main dislike of the Tourney, it has a good taste, but is bone dry.

I think if these 3 suggestions could be done, as I don't know what can and can't be done with the company's set up and equipment, a test 2 could be done. Then I'd see about a good package/price. I'd make it not less than 20 portions, and not over $3.

Tobacco Tom, did you get the General Minis I sent? I sent those to give an idea to maybe reverse engineer, and to get an idea from the flavor and texture of the most popular name brand Swedish snus.

I really am pleased with Discreet. In reflection, after trying various products, I have been really pleased with it. It isn't just something I review and like and never use again. It is actually a great product, and as the flavor line grows, so will the Discreet name. RJR - are you taking notes? THIS is how you do snus in America. Tom - great job. Still enjoying your products.

I should make a clarification of my opinion on the strawberry and peach. I am not a big fan of those flavors of any product, not just snus. Being new to snus' portion sizes and coming off of using Grizzly pouches, I was not the best person to give an opinion on the nicotine hit.

As far as the Emerald and Mint, they were great. As soon as I can, I am definitely going to order some of both.

I have also mentioned the product to my tobacco dealer and am going to take a pack that the samples came in to the Murphy's USA gas station's manager at my local Walmart to try to get them to carry them. Would that not be a great thing if Murphy's or Walmart started carrying them?

From everyone's reviews concerning the other new flavors, I am so wanting to try the Apple, Orange, Grape, and Swedish styles.

BTW tobacco tom, I disagree strongly with other Tom about the taste issues with the Swedish. I thought it was as close to perfect as any snus I ever tried except maybe Retro. And damn close to Retro. Not sure you read my other posts, but I am on a mission to find a snus to rplace Retro, ie, a snus I can use every day and not grow tired of the taste. The Swedish Style is the closest I have found so far.

                    BUT...

I hate minis when it comes to regular snus. I tolerate the mini Discreet sweet,as the sweet flavor is so strong, it just seems to work for me. But for my regular portions, the minis just don't feel right. Any chance we could see a full sized version of the Swedish type soon??? If you did, you would immediately capture at least 30% of my monthly snus budget, I liked it that much. It would immediately become the base on which all the rest if the snus I use is built on

I'd be down to try it if a regular size, strong, or lös version came out.

Got my samples and a GetSnus order this weekend and like most of the rest of you, I thoroughly enjoy them. I'll probably be giving some out @ work to try to get some people off Camel SNUS.

I sometimes feel like I might sound too negative. But I am not meaning to be. I am only my one self voice. I think Discreet is a great snus, in that so many people enjoy them. My buddy likes them. Personally, I think they are well made and well flavored, and they smell great. Just my personal taste is I am not a fan of any sweet mini snus, no matter who makes it. I also give Tom a big thumbs up, on being an awesome guy, giving samples, and even embarking on a Swede style(which was not bad at all). But regardless of what company who makes it, or tries to make it, I'd still like to see an American company make a snus that rivals the popular Swedish brands. And that I have not yet to see, and I may never.

See, this is where we disagree. I think the Swedish style absolutely rivals anything the Swede's are putting out, except it is in mini form

So let me ask you so I understand your tastes better. What do you think of Retro white???

I am glad you took to the DisSwede so well. I agree, it is not bad, and it maybe just the mini aspect that's mainly affecting my critique. But I do think a bit of pepper and citrus would make it even better. But to me, it's almost there, but not just yet. But it's not bad at all, and if I had the choice between DisSwede and US Camel, I'd pick the DisSwede. If I had the choice between the DisSwede and Tourney Original, I'd pick the Tourney. Now if the DisSwede had a full portion, a bit of pepper and citrus, I'd pick the DisSwede. Even the lack of moist base is not a major issue, but between the choice of a dry based snus, and a moist based snus, I would pick the moist(unless the moist was bad tasting).

I have not had Retro White. I have 1 can of Retro Original in the freezer not yet opened.
