new name for snus

the way snus if pronounced, will never take off in north america. noone understands it, or wants to know more about a thing with a silly name like snoose. The name alone has probably kept people from trying our smokeless product. It needs a new name, any suggestions?

I learned that "Skruf" is correctly pronounced "Stoof," I don't think names will matter at all in the US. It's a product with a foreign origin and name, call it what it is; mispronunciations expected and acceptable.

Yup, like calling Skruf... Stoof. That's just wrong. But who gives a shit? Certainly not I. It's really pronounced like Screwf. But forget that I said that that. I'm not trying to correct you. I couldn't care less how you say it. I don't even buy the shit anymore (actually I did like Skruf strong a lot), it's pretty good. Snus by any other name is still snoose. Some will buy it and most won't, and it'll still survive all of us.

Snus sounds silly. I only use the word snus on this site. If people ask me what I'm using, I say Swedish moist snuff, which is what it is called in a lot of the academic papers on harm reduction.

But there are other possible names, but I think the most informative ones should use Swedish or Scandinavian as an optional add-on.

(S/S) steam tobacco
