I’m with Roo. I love Skruf. It is one of my all time favorites. And this coming from someone who uses regular strength snus and avoids all the supper nic brands with a passion (the last thing I need to do is raise my already tolerant tolerance). That said, I do uses about 2/3 my normal size pris with Skruf. Reducing pris size might be worth a try.

A bit off topic: I placed my first snuff order. Thanks for your help. Here is what I’ve got coming:

    Toque Original
    Toque Whisky & Honey
    Toque Spanish Gem
Fribourg & Treyer High Dry Toast
    Fribourg & Treyer Santo Domingo
    Wilsons Irish Coffee

Oh and by the way, that tampon blast Maxi-power dropped on you was funny as hell. :P

I like the flavor, just not the strength. I'll pick up a tin of Knox in my next order. Maybe that'll be like a Skruf regular. I don't remember getting that cigar taste in Knox the last time I had it though :^/

IMHO there is no comparison between Knox los and Skruf. While Knox is certainly not bad, it let me down as I also assumed it might be akin to a Skruf regular strength equivalent. Same factory, different snus. Just my thoughts. Certainly order a tin of Knox... it's growing on me

Knox and Skruf are indeed two different snuses. Knox is not the poor man’s Skruf (in the way that I have heard people describe Granit as the poor man’s General). That said, I really like Knox on its own merits. Taste wise, it lacks the rose oil that is in Skruf while stepping up the pepper element.

I am like others, the skruf stark and stark white's are ok for me, but the stark los is fantastic. The texture and consistancy is great and the flavor is so good I want to eat it. As far as the nicotine content goes, for me it is strong, but nothing that affects whatever i'm doing. Just make a smaller pris, this will help the nic overload and make a can last a lot longer. Now if Northerner can get this shipping from there US wherehouse i'll be baking this stuff daily.

lxskllr, I'd be interested to know how many clicks on the Icetool you used. I am (like you) not much of a stark user but I've found that varying between 1 1/2 and 2 clicks for both Skruf Stark lös and the GES lös doesn't really affect me that much. Initially I thought it would, but the nicotine levels don't feel that much different from an Icetool filled with about 3 clicks of Ettan.

I'd probably have to add that I only tend to use stark lös in the evenings once I've had my main meal of the day. I think that may play a role.

There must be some other factors at work as well because as far as I understand it the Skruf is only about 10mg/g of nicotine vs. the 9mg/g that you would get in Gotland Gul. So the difference shouldn't be felt that greatly....

There is a regular strength version available in Norway that I've also had, but I haven't been able to find a regular supply short of flying to Norway (which I might do anyway in the summer)

              http://www.snuson.com/viewtopic.php?t=2530

              (page 2 of that thread)

It is exactly the same as the stark version and absolutely delicious. I've mailed Skruf about its availability but never received a response.

Ps: As I suggested in that thread I think we should petition Northerner and Buysnus to carry the Original lös

                Hey Northener,

                WE WANT SKRUF REGULAR

That said, I bet the issue is one of production and not a matter of various sites being willing to carry Skruf reg. My guess is that Skruf does not produce enough of this line to meet international demands and is unwilling to take production resources away from its best selling line (e.g. Skruf Stark) to do so.

                Nonetheless,

                Hey Northener,

                WE WANT SKRUF REGULAR

                Edit: spelled "stark" as "star"

Go figure. But ain't that what makes snus great and why in the end it comes down to trying the various brands yourself.

Yesterday, I used a heavy 2 clicks(just slightly above the 2 mark line) which is in the range of what I use with any snus. I had some today, which I packed on the lighter side(1.75 clicks), and I didn't get the overnic'd feeling. The difference in volume isn't that great, so I'm wondering if it just affected me oddly for some reason. It's been awhile, but I've gotten the twirls from snus that I otherwise use without issue. Why? I don't know. It seems to relate to how tired I am, but I've never fully pinned it down :shrugs:

The "twirls" for me will happen when snus is combined with drinking, and especially when I haven't eaten much.

Imperial Tobacco is the parent company of Skruf (pronounced 'Skroof' and Knox brands of Swedish snus. Skruf is probably the second most popular snus brand in Sweden and one of the top most popular snus brands in the growing American market.

Skruf was started by two life long friends who saw an opportunity to make a big future for a small product - Jonas Engwall and Adam Gillberg.

Life long friends and entrepreneurs, Jonas and Adam, sat down in 2001 to discuss how they could use their skills gained in the world of finance to build a business in an area they were passionate about.
