insert, hook and drag out away from the ear

I know we are a little simple down hear in New Zealand, so sorry about my strange little observation.... but after two months on Ettan los i have come to terms with the pris breaking down and seeming very dry (on the inside) and crumbling upon removal, leaving a bunch of boulders in my gob that require spitting out or swallowing.Well today i was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival of a few different samples ....one being skruf stark and now after 5 tickles of the skruff i have noticed that every single one has come out in one piece, seriously not leaving one crumb behind..... Just me , or has my Ettan been too close to expiry date or perhaps texture, any opinions . Kev
PS don,t you love me Sage????

    LOL, yes I do

How are you forming the pris? Do you have an Icetool, a prismaster, or are you hand baking?

I know with a prismaster, it was TOTALLY dependent on the brand of lös. Some would fall apart very easily when I remove it, I know the skruff always held together better. Now that I am using an Icetool to pack it, I have a much easier time across the board. I suspect that it wasn't that the Ettan was bad, it is just that the skruff is so much better, for these purposes at least

I haven't really had that bad of a problem with Ettan, but Skruf does seem to bake a better pris. I think it has to do with the difference in the grind and moisture content.

Hey Sage, with the NZ dollar how it is, an ice tool works out about a days wage, put that way it doesn,t seem too bad BIMO it,s rather expensive, so as i have children i have been cutting the ends off 3 ml syringes and they seem to do a great job and last a while... i have used both products the same and really (two days in) find Skruf so much better for removal.

I understand Kevin. I'm still trying to figure out why, with our economy so screwed up, the dollar is still so strong against so many currencies. I'm glad the Skruff is working a bit better for you

Sage any time feel free to hit me with questions about your future "pilgrimage" My girl is from Holland and we,ve lived there for years on and off......... And if any one catches this.. Question just trying Ettan portions and finding after about 20 to 30 minutes they seem to let out quite alot of juice which i don,t get from los, is this the reason people use them over Los (ie flavour) or is this a down side ??????

This is a reason that I use los, but that's just because too much juice will upset my acid reflux disorder.
