Gellivare snus to start production again?

"Gellivare snusfabrik AB kommer att starta upp inom kort med aktuella prisjusteringar med kammarättsdomen som grund. Aktuellt startdatum meddelas längre fram på vår hemsida. "

If I am reading this correctly it looks like Gellivare might start producing snus again sometime.

As far as I can tell it says that Gellivare will start producing snus again with prices reflecting the judgment that was handed down. (Or it could be to cover the costs of the judgment?) - I am assuming this refers to the issue around the unpaid excise duty?

Start date of production to be announced on the website.

    :?

Can someone who can properly read Swedish please help because if I this is actually going to happen it will be absolutely awesome news.

I still have about 1 1/2 lbs of Gellivare left in my freezer if anyone is interested. I also have 5 different scents from Gellivare that I can flavor it with. PM me if you are interested.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I never had the opportunity to try Gellivare snus. What are the flavors of the snus? I know there is a red and green can.

There were 2 styles, Gellivare which was fine cut in the red can, and Landströms which was a little coarser, and in the green can.

Landströms was my favorite by a hair, and it had an earthy, peaty taste. My favorite coffee snus, and it vied with Gotland Gul as my all time favorite snus.

Gellivare was a little richer, less peat, and had some chocolate notes as well.

Like PP, I have a bunch of Landströms in my freezer. I've been reluctant to offer it up, as I did something wrong mixing it. It just isn't as good as stuff I got pre-made. It's usable, but doesn't have that Gellivare magic that made their snus special.

I know what you mean about the peaty taste; it reminded me somewhat of an Islay scotch but with a touch of bergamot. Lxskllr, refresh my memory, were you the other recipient of the Northerner giveaway with PP? I got 5 free cans of snus and an expired can of Gellivare that day. As I had run out of Gellivare I gave it a try but it was undoubtedly very very expired.

Yup. I got the ginormous Tub O'Landströms. It was a kind of snus kit, where you had to finish it off for the final product. I had plans to distribute it to those that wanted some, but I wasn't happy with the final results. As I said, it's usable, but doesn't do justice to the Landströms name. I figured those that knew, and loved Landströms would be disappointed, and for those that didn't, the Landströms reputation would be damaged buy giving substandard snus under their name :^(

I emailed Doris at Gellivare directly and she has confirmed that they will be starting production again soon.

I've sent her the link to this post and asked her to contribute so hopefully we will get to hear from her soon.

                    That's fantastic news!!!

The Gellivare products were always one of the cheapest snus' to buy, but they were easily worth 3 times price. I can't wait until they're rolling again :^)

LX, why don't you try to mix the Landstroms with some kind of unflavored cig or pipe tobacco to see what happens. That should help dilute it some. Having 2 kilos just sitting in the freezer isn't doing anyone any good.

I haven't had any in awhile. I mixed some dregs from the tub with bergamot flavor, and have been using that. I should pull out a tin of plain, and try to figure out what it would take to fix it. I'd love to know exactly how the official Landströms was made. It had stuff in it, but it was so subtle that it didn't taste like anything in particular, but the flavor as a whole was rockin'.

Man I can't wait to try this. It was discontinued before I got a chance to give it a whirl. I have regreted it ever since. Hopefully it will be soon.
