Welcome to the forum, gcocks!
The question is: what kind of cigarettes did you smoke?
For me, who smoked mainly regular Camel, Marlboro, Gauloises, Samson and sometimes some less known brands just for a change up, the transition to Swedish snus was as easy as it can be. Snus is a different thing, but after I was used to the bitter, burned, sometimes really crappy taste of cigarettes, it was easy to get used to snus.
Now, if you were a smoker of mentholated cigarettes (which I tried once and hated - same for low-nicotine cigarettes, where the tobacco seemed to be replaced with manure, as far as my taste-buds are concerned), I'd say that you won't get lucky with regular Swedish snus. I guess you already know for yourself, what to try next. Good luck!
Cheers!
