I have noticed that the nicotine in snus hits me harder than it used to with Copenhagen.
My first snus purchase was tentative - I didn't want to buy a bunch of stuff I might not like, so ordered just two cans, one of Nick and Johnny and one of Skruf Stark. Well, the stuff was great and I immediately ordered more of the same two brands.
Anyway, I chose these two because of the higher nic content. Both are comparable to Copenhagen (I didn't want to jones for nicotine either during my little snus experiment).
My first pris made me dizzy as hell, which was a plus. I had to sit down. I felt sort of giddy and warm. I never had this happen to me with Copenhagen (I was a daily user for 20 some years), except back in my teens when I was starting out - it was accompanied then by physical illness as well, thankfully absent from my first pris.
While the dizziness is no longer as extreme, I always seem to get a little head buzz off these two brands which supposedly have about a half an mg of nic less than Cope.
Could it be my upper lip? It's virgin territory, you know. Or do you think snus is simply a more efficient nicotine delivery vehicle?
Which brings me to my second point....Ettan arrived and dove in. I love this stuff, more than either N&J or Skruf. It is simple and satisfying and I use it without thinking, just like I did with Cope...and it has LESS nicotine.
It seems I am getting the perfect nicotine hit from Ettan at 8 mg, just like from Copenhagen (which is at 11.5-12 mg) and too much of a hit from either N&J and Skruf (10-11 mg).
Thoughts?
I would especially like to hear from reformed dippers out there.
