I'm new to here and snus as well. Anyway, I made an order to northerner and got one of everykind of los they had except offroad wintergreen longcut. (A guy a work with had and I tried it,didn't care for it.)I just recieved my order today. I was wondering should I start with the cheaper stuff and work my way to the more expensive stuff or go the other way and use the expensive first. I'm trying to quit dipping, I use cope snuff every now and then but mostly use red seal fine cut wintergreen. I was just wondering what would be the best way to go.

Start with Ettan Lös. I assume you have it. Otherwise first the expensive brands to get a taste for snus, then the cheap brands. The first snus-experience can be shocking anyway, the more expensive brands overall are easier to tolerate for a newbie IMHO.
Just my 2 cents, there really is no bad snus-brand and some of the cheaper brands have interesting flavors, so you can easily decide for yourself what to do.
Cheers!

Welcome to Snuson dave1,
Honestly, I don't think there is a "right" answer to your question. Snus is real funny, so many people have different tastes. You may love the cheap stuff and hate the expensive stuff. Honestly, I have never found the cost of snus to really matter much in what I like. yes, there are a few cheap brands I dislike. but there are some I love (Knoxx for example).
So try in any order you please. I suspect that you will soon fall in love.
And welcome again!!

Originally posted by dave1Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately when I opened the package the can of probe had a crack in the lid. I figured I better use it before it dries out or something(got one in right now). I have to say it is alot different than american stuff. For the better.
As far as snus vs. American dip, I am sure you are noticing that it is not sugary-sweet like American dip. That is very good, since having all that sugar sitting on your teeth feeds those bad lil' bacteria like crazy. Also, snus is not nearly as irritant as American dip. A couple of weeks ago, I ran out of snus and my order was delayed. My local snus suppliers were back-ordered, so I grabbed a couple cans of Grizzly Wintergreen (the only dip I am somewhat familiar with). After only 2 days of using it, the location where I was holding it was bright red and bleeding. That can't be good.

I came from american dip, trust me brother, itll grow on you. Now I tried the offroad flavored snus (flavors like american dip) and never finished any of the cans, I tried some skoal long cut wintergreen the other day and didnt even finish the can, the snus taste rubs off on you.

Thanks for all the advice. One thing I have noticed is this stuff doesn't destroy the gums. I cracked open the ettan, montecristo, and the phantom classic and I have to say sagedil was right, I liked them both except the montecristo. I did not like the taste at all. To me it tasted like an ashtray smells(no offense). I tried the upper lip thing first, I thought it might be weird but worked out okay. Tried the lower lip too, haven't had the "mud mouth" problem like some talk about. I hillbilly pinched the snus and seems after it sets for a minute it shapes to my mouth and doesn't run is that normal. I believe the transition will go without a hitch. By the way Jackolantern if u run out and have to use dip, try red seal if you can get it(if you haven't already), has a better taste and won't do demolition to your gums like grizzly, it does just not as bad.

First off Welcome...
Your question is actually pondering to me. If I remember correctly I didn't even look at the price when I started. I figured it was ALL cheaper than the smokes I was purchasing so I just grabbed a bunch of stuff and didn't even look at the price code. I guess my .02 would be do mix it all up forget about the price and just start trying something. Figure out what you like and if it interest you after trying everything look and see if you like the expensive stuff or the inexpensive. Might make an interesting experiment to share...
