    Package Arrival

Well my package came and I got to experience General Original Large Portion for the first time. I thought it would be a good start to base my other snus experiences off of as a baseline as I tune in my tastes.

Wow, that is a different flavor, from Camel Mellow to General, that was a jump. At first I didn't feel anything just the taste and I was worried, 3 minutes later I could feel buzz. A little strong at first. It felt like smoking two cigarettes at once for me.

Then after the intial buzz the it curved off pretty well and as the flavor knocked down a little bit I started to like it more. Then I tried General Mint Mini, no big buzz but the flavor was much more tolerable like an Altoid. Next is Wintergreen Original white, but I need to wait a little while to recover. I did smoke a cigarette (Marlb. Light), an hour later just to see and I couldn't feel the difference which is great for me because I would often want to smoke after Cameling. I threw the smokes away!

I put the General Mix box I got from getsnus into freezer until I get through the two boxes of the General trial portions. I liked Mellower taste of Mint but could use more nicotine so I'm hoping Wintergreen will get me there. See you tonight with updates.

Well the wintergreen taste is pretty subtle. Clearly this isn't an easy adjustment. I cycled back to general original and the second time I could sense some of the citrus and a lot of pepper, didn't get the same buzz but I usually don't after the first few cigs of the day. I'm thinking of ordering northerner starter pack next. Anyone try this?

It's what I always recommend. Get ther Top 10 set, basically all their best selling snus. Will get a good overview of what people like.

I made another order mostly of Chad's recomendations, I also have some general left from my first order to keep working on. I've decided to keep C. Mellow in the rotation until my buds adjust.

            Day 2

Day 2 has gone much better than day one. The saltiness is less prevalent but still pretty strong. I started today with Goteberg's Rape No. 2. Salty but much more tolerable than General was yesterday. Didn't feel a buzz today but my nic cravings have been well in check. I can't help but feel like I am chewing a plant. Look out ferns! This might drive some people crazy but phantom classic wasn't as bad either today. It is hard for me to discern too much difference yet amongst the varieties of snus yet.

Anyone know the salt content of a portion of Snus?

Out of curiosity if you are on a salt restricted diet is there a low salt snus?

I'm glad you're taking to the snus! Goteborg Rape No.2 tasted like straight up juniper to me at first, but once your taste buds start repairing themselves, you'll begin to taste the hints of berry, too, and it's fantastic! How are you handling the burn in your gums?

You will be able to actually taste the snus soon. The biggest trip for me was the first time I actually tasted the chocolaty type flavor I was reading about in Ettan. Im still tasting new things in the different snus.

I haven't had any issues with gums just some minor irritation from the salt. I do find though that my left side (Main Side) has decreased sensation (numbness) towards the end of the day. Anyone else have this?

Hmm, can't recall ever having this issue. Iiiinteresting. I just had painfully tender gums for a couple of days, then nothing!
