    New Snus from Marlboro

I dont know the portion on the preloaded snus packets from Marlboro but its here.. At least in Texas where a pack of cigs are around $5 and are said to go up to $7 by the end of the year...They come in a cute little slide box in mint, spice, flavor, mild, and bold.. sells for around 3.50 for a 12 pouch box... I just got my first pack today and will try them tomorrow (I got a free coupon in the mail) I will let all know if they are any good! I got the mint.... I hope there good I mean $5 for 20 cigs and $3+ for 12 pouches? cost savings?

Oh well I hope the switch is worth it...

If you like it, I HIGHLY suggest you hit the web and order the real stuff from Sweden. Plenty of good stores to hit: I use buysnus.com usually but just ordered direct from Swedish Match with no problem.
Cheaper for sure, probably a little healthier due to Sweden seeing snus as a food item (higher standards).
    Good luck!!!

Hahaha, that's the exact descriptoin of a pack of Taboka.
Just do a forum search for "taboka". I reviewed it here. It's even made by Philip Morris.
I guess PM just rebranded the damn thing. Didn't want to soil ..erm.. associate their No.1 selling brand with an experimental thingy.
Just so you know...if it doesn't say "snus" anywhere on the box, tin, can, packet, whatever...it's just not snus.

Besides, ordering the real thing on the internet is better and cheaper to boot. Just have to wait a few days for it to arrive.

Gothiatek says, it's not harder but just as hard to stop snusing, as it is to stop smoking: http://www.gothiatek.com/bazment.asp...174#ancor_quit .
Gothiatek is a promotional site, made by Swedish Match, the biggest snus-manufacturer, so even they admit, that quitting is not easy. The site is very much based on independent scientific studies and doesn't spare out the known or presumed negative effects of snusing. Recommended to read, it you want further informations.

In contrast to cigarettes, snus tastes good, has virtually no known negative health effects and is usually much cheaper, than even a moderate smoking-habit. Thus, there is not such a strong motivation to quit, which really could make quitting a bit harder, than with the cigarettes.

In fact, in contrast to smokers- or dipper-forums, you will not find many quitters posting. And the few, that I know, say, it is possible, but really about as hard as with the cigarettes.

My personal experience of abstinence, with snus, is limited to about 4 hours (awake) and the feeling of withdrawal seems to be a little easier to bear, than with the cigarettes. But, since I never tried to quit, this evaluation doesn't count.

On balance, I guess, yes, it's hard to quit snusing, but not necessarily harder than to quit smoking. It certainly depends on the single person, too.

            Cheers!

If anything I find it a LOT easier to stop snusing for a while than when I smoked.
I'd catch myself not having thought of nicotine for days at a time. The insane craving you get with smoking-withdrawal isn't there with snus!
Even when *wanting* a snus it still didn't feel like a "craving", otherwise you'd think I would've broken down and bought a pack of cigarettes but just the thought of smoking again makes me want to puke.
Onico (the nicotine-free snus replacement) makes it really very easy to make you quit.

              [edit]
Or it could be that I'm just a light snuser (except when out drinking). On a regular weekday I'll maybe have 4 loose prillas or 3 loose and 3 portions.
While, out drinking might mean I annihilate a can of loose.
Anyhoo, I think if I'd want to quit nicotine 100% I'd have to stop drinking booze for 2 months.

I do the same 3 loose and 3 portion a day...apart from when the drinking starts. When I switched to snus I got lured back to cigs when I was drinking. So just gave up drinking for a month or so till I got used to snus.

I would probably have to do something similar if I gave up snus.

im in texas and so far have tried the marlboro snus mint and spice flavors. overall, ive found these snus to be pleasant but weak. however, i have been able to successfully stop dipping by supplementing my nic urges with a snus pouch. prior to trying the marlboro snus, i had tried skoal dry (test marketed in austin, tx). the skoal was nice but seemed to upset the stomach. i have also tried general loose and loved it! the experience was much more resonant of a plug of dip in the lip and had me wanting more from the get-go.

i can't wait for my first order from buysnus to arrive as i'm tired of these marlboro snus. after trying general loose, the marlboro snus just don't compare. i wonder how they compare to portions sold by swedish companies?

BL: Marlboro snus are worthwhile if you're looking to try snus portions and/or would like something to take the place of cigs or dip.

I'm so tired of dipping and have had my bouts with smoking. Thankfully, I found this forum this summer and have found snus. The video posts on baking helped immensely! Godspeed to Swedish post!

I dislike the way marlboro have used 'branded' flavours. They sound like types of deodorant.

How comes they call it Snus? Doesn't that imply that it is made in Sweden and conforms to Swedish standards? I know BAT manufacture Lucky Strike Snus in Sweden but I wasn't aware that Philiip Morris had started producing Snus in Sweden? I'm just curious as Marlboros used to be my favourite ciggy brand. Mind you they'd have to do large portions to tempt me away from my favourite classic Swedish brands.
