    PACT act geographic exemptions....

    http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/...a79mnV:e49912:

If I'm reading this correctly, and I may just be an idiot, the non-mailable clause does not apply to the state of Hawaii or Alaska.

`(c) Exceptions- This section shall not apply to the following:

`(1) CIGARS- Cigars (as that term is defined in section 5702(a) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986).

`(2) GEOGRAPHIC EXCEPTION- Mailings within the State of Alaska or within the State of Hawaii.

If that stays true, and this bill does pass, am I right to assume I'll still be able to place my orders? *fingers crossed* (my fingers and my german brothers fingers as well)

I'm not a lawyer but "within the state" makes me think the shipper and receiver would have to be in the state.

That's the reason I asked, I got overly excited when I read that and read what I wanted to read.

        Wow.

A yearly trip to Hawaii would just be tragic.

Or a twice yearly trip to Alaska would be within my frequent flier mileage budget, if I thought it was possible to get about ninety tins of snus through airport security. I knew those old tie dyed bell bottoms in the back of the closet would eventually be stylish again.

But yeah, it is intended for some remote areas that purchase a lot of their ordinary supplies that way, from retailers within the same State. I actually have one of those communities near me. A Native American tribe at the bottom of the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, which gets EVERYTHING, including groceries, delivered by US Mail carried into the canyon on the backs of federally owned pack mules. But they don't get an exemption.

          Sorry dude.
