Onyxian or Onyxist?

I finally received my first roll of Onyx. I hate the fact that it's so good. Why? 1 It's expensive 2 It has no drawbacks, unlike all the other snus that I have tried....I'm just reaching for an Onyx all the time, and feel bored with the rest of my stack (General original, General white, Thunder frosted, Thunder wintergreen, Thunder original, Oden los, Tre Ankare --- a total of 20 tins as opposed to 9 --- I mean 8 tins of Onyx).

Anyway, I like Onyx solo, with coffee and with all other drinks as well. Am I becoming the kind of boring person who will only buy one brand from now on? Is this going to ruin my economy? Am I becoming an Onyxian or Onyxist? (btw, which term sounds better?) I even like the design of the tin, sort of like a stylized hockey puck for second place (silver) in some junior league.

It's all good, Multinic. I prefer Onyx to just about everything else, but I do try to sample new things. After Onyx, everything else does seem bland, though.

You should probably try Grov Svart (the strong white portions) for a flavor change-up. Kind of a liquorice/leathery taste, but I like to alternate that with the Onyx. Also try the Roda Lacket Claq Qui, if you get the chance. Even now, it burns my throat something fierce, but it is a good, powerful, flavorful snus. It might be a little too much, if you weren't a die-hard smoker before picking up snus, though.

Yes, I concur with this too. My top two (at the moment) are Grov Svart and Onyx and are the only two that I've ordered further cans of. Whilst the [many] others are mostly all good, I'll try new ones before buying more of ones already tried.

The only downside I've noticed with Grov Svart is that the pouch seems to swell up with saliva over time whereas the Onyx does not. Anyone else notice this?

11mg, tobacco/citrus, white, Swedish Match.

I haven't tried the general sterk yet, but assume it would be much less of a citrus flavor than onyx. I love general, but the lemon is onyx is a bit overpowering for me. It's good, but not one I think I would buy again any time soon. I'll stick to original general, which is one of my favorites.

Speaking of onyx, I just got a free can of it in the mail from swedish match = ) That made my day. I forgot about a surey that I took quite a while ago, which got me a tin for free. I love surprises!!

However I load my can with 50% Onyx and 50% Sterk

Makes for a nice daily mix....

I should have got that free can. Ive got like 5 onyx in the freezer already though. I like it but honestly less and less. But tastes change

I did get a free can of Grov LOS in my getsnus order today though, and that rocks. I saw the can and thought they had slipped me the grov whites again but I got lucky this time.

I actually like Grov svart. It's very good with coffee (competitive with Onyx), but gets boring on its own. General sterk is the second-best General, in my opinion, but a bit bland. The other Generals are too salty (ES and original) or too light (white).

Onyx is a great allround snus because it's halfway between a pure tobacco snus (good for drinks, especially coffee), and a flavored type (good the rest of the time or with water). What troubles me is that my enjoyment of the rest has decreased since the arrival of Onyx. I'm snusing a Thunder Original at the moment, and the added bergamot and salt flavors annoy me more than they did previously. Can't wait to spit it out!

Maybe it's just me, but I guess i'm against the grain on the one. I love onyx don't get me wrong, but it's currently for 4th snus of choice.

1st - Skruf Stark White - I love this junk!
2nd - Thunder Frosted - Amazing morning snus and before bed stuff!
3rd - Gotta love the Claq Qui, it's not the strongest, but it sends me for a loop every time!
and 4th - Onyx - good change of pace snus and it goes great when i'm out riding my Fat Bob!
