    Camel Mellow

So I tried Camel Mellow for the first time last night. A bartender buddy of mine got a free can with a pack of smokes, and he let me try a portion, so I figured I'd give it a fair shake.

At first I thought that it was not so bad, at least not as bad as everyone says. It was sweet, and to me tasted like pipe tobacco smells, which was ok. Then about five minutes in, I could have sworn I tasted artificial sweeteners. Gag, I spit it out and went back to the real thing.

Sorry Camel. If this is what you think Americans want, then I'm sticking with real Swedish snus!

i started with camel frost, which i cannot stand now.

but, i will be honest - i do have a can of camel mellow in the fridge. maybe once every 2 or 3 weeks i'll pull out a portion. it's a good dessert snus, haha.

For a long time, I worked at the local, friendly, neighborhood, bar and the Camel Mellow reminded me of something I used to either have to make a ton of or drank a ton of, but I could never quite put my finger on it. Crown Royal, maybe? Some mixed drink with midori in it? Whatever it was, I hadn't had it in a long long time.

I think Maple Syrup explains it well.

All that I have used so far concerning snus have been camel products, while I used to like it, it has now become way to sweet for me. It's like I'm eating a whole pack of candy in one lil mouthful. I can't wait to get snus with just general tobacco flavor or pure wintergreen without any sugar.

I still like Camel snus even though I have to admit I haven't touched it since swedish snusing.

That's exactly what the flavor reminds me of.

One portion is not bad every 6-8 weeks. I wouldn't use up valuable refrigerator space for the tin though.

I keep getting coupons for free Camel. At least they are trying to promote their product. Can't imagine cigarettes will last too much longer at $7+ per pack.

just ran across these, kind of explains why camel tastes the way it does.

Where else can someone say that they suck a camel and nobody bats an eye?

I finally got to try this stuff now that it is all over the place here. Mellow is basically the same peachy-fruity taste as Triumph original and Roda Lacket, but with a heavy hit of artificial sweetener.

Not too bad in my opinion.
