New to forum,snus newb

I am on day 8 now and I am coming to Love Snus more and more each day, however most things taste good right now, I am trying some Catch brands right now, GR#2 is falling down my list but many love this snus.

After listening to many talk about Onyx and Thunder Frosted I am going to make sure these are my next orders.

Are you just using flavored snus, or have you been using some more traditional flavored snus as well. If you are using the more traditional snus, has it been hard switching from Camel. Now that you are getting used to the salt,a re you finding you prefer flavored snus to non flavored snus?

The flavored snus works for some, not for others. Honestly, all folks need when making the switch over from camel is time. And advice NOT to trust their initial taste experiences. It's the salt that really throws folks. But give them a week to two, and there bodies get used to it and then they can taste what Swedish snus is really all about.

Been here for more than a year since Camel hit, we have had hundred and hundreds of folks make the switch and all of them took basically the same route. Were really thrown off my Swedish at first, but if they gave themselves a bit of time, quickly came to love the Swedish stuff, and usually not even the flavored kind.

99.9% of emails i get start off:

"what the hell is that smell?"
and
"why is this stuff so salty?"

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, recomendations, advice, etc. Looks like the whole snus thing is going to be an interesting adventure . Here's an overview of what i've had thus far listed from best to worst and a few thoughts.

Odens kanel los: Being it's los and i'am a newb it's a bit messy at times. But thus far is favorite, just really like taste and effect.Never thought that the taste of salt followed by a subtle hint of cinnamon would be such a wonderful experience.

Odens kanel portions: No mess to deal with makes it nice to use when i busy vs the los.This seems to have a bit more cinnamon kick to it but still subtle.

Odens kanel ES portions: Wish this had a bit more cinnamon flavor to it,seems almost nonexistant compared to the others. But it's great for the smooth but strong nic delivery.

General orginal portions: Still pretty new to this one as i've not even finished a can yet but am liking. The whole lemon pepper thing with tobacco is an interesting experience for me. So far the portions have the best feel in reguards to material used and form. I do find that if i use these all day long that my throat is a bit irritated at the end of the day.It's not bad but it's there. Perhaps something i'll get use to.

Skruf cranberry portions: Ok on nic hit but not great either. Taste vaguely reminds me of skoal berry blend pouches just not as sweet. I like it but i sure would'nt say it tastes like cranberry. Decent overall but not something i see myself using everyday.

General dry mini mints: For me these are a great subsitute for an after dinner mint with the bonus of nic delivery. I think i'd use these more often if they made a regular portion size. Being minis i find i have to use 2-3 portions at once to get decent nic fix which would'nt be cost effective for everyday use.

Camel frost: Not awful but i find them too sweet and a bit weak on the nic side of things. Also not cost effective.

Goteborg's rape loose: Should have researched more bf getting this one. I never have cared for the taste of gin and too me that's what this stuff tasted like. So far this was only can i could not bring myself to finish.Nic hit was decent, just could'nt stand the taste.


Just had my latest order arrive , so we'll see how this experience goes. For portions i got more oden's kanel, gotland's green,mocca pomegranate, and catch eucalyptus. For loose i got ettans and grov.Can't wait to start trying them out!

I love General but anything that has liquid smoke irritates my throat a little. I'll have to echo and earlier post and say try Gotland's Gul or Jakobsson's. I like them equally but Jakobsson's states 20oz on the can which is why I stick with Gul now.
