    help with los/portions breaking

ok, so i've been using the nord's flavored portions, and i'm enjoying los alot, however, i have two problem.

    1. the portion often times falls apart if i try to move it and it crumbles.
    2. i can't get the portion out without it falling apart and having to immensley wash my mouth out.

since i'm new to los, is it due to the cut/grind of this product? i recently ordered some ettan (which i like in portions) and i heard it's a good beginners los. i'm losing a prismaster, is that my problem, or is los just something that naturally is supposed to fall apart? any help i'd appreciate.

you guys know what i like, so any suggestions of different los i can try (that are good for beginners) i would appreciate.

You just need practice. It's unrealistic to expect lös to stay intact the whole time it's in your mouth. Mine always breaks up, but I still keep it controlled. It isn't something you can really give instructions on. It'll just get easier the more you use it.

ok, i was curious. i didn't know if i was doing something wrong, or if it was the "grind" (which i still have yet to learn about) of this particular brand.

I favor my pris master to my icetool. Try playing with how hard you pack the snus. Also try not to poke it to much. I find the finer cuts pack and stay together better than the course, but the finer cuts if broken apart in your mouth get alot messier. Just experiment!!!

do you pack the snus by pressing the tool into the can, or by packing more snus into the tool?

I like 2 clicks on the IceTool. What I do is set the tool to slightly less than 2 clicks, and stab it into the snus. When I feel the plunger raise slightly, I push the tool into the bottom of the tin and compress the snus. This makes it almost exactly 2 clicks after it's compressed.

I will pack in the can, then i will extract the pris master from the tin and press my thumb down on the snus to give it more of a pack then i eject it into place. Once you become more familiar in wielding loose snus you can pretty much hillbilly it and she'll stay like a dream.

I havent been losing very long but it's quickly becoming my favorite for sure.

I just put the icetool on 1.5 clicks and stab it into the can until its full, put it on my thumb or bottom of the can and compress. With general or grov I compress pretty hard but with like phantom I go easier.

I eject it pretty much right over my canine and press it up and fix any breaks with my tongue.

After it starts melting/sliding I begin snus repair with my tongue. I just push up from the tips of my teeth and press the snus upwards. Ive gotten pretty good at the "repairs" and that's the tastiest part to me

I play around with the pris all the time so I only get maybe an hour out of em.

It does indeed have some to do with the grind. Oden's for example packs horribly. Skruf Stark los (absolute favorite snus) packs beautifully. General los is about in the mid range for packing, holds well for about 1/2 an hour, but breaks up taking it out.

I have both a pris master and a 5 ml Icetool I just got. I don't find that one is better than the other, I just feel a lot more cool using the Icetool. In all honesty, hand baking is the best route. You can't get a better pris.

Now, for those that read this and are thinking of getting an Icetool, go with the 3ml one. My stupid American sense of measurement failed to realize how much 5 ml actually was. Who in God's name could fit 5 ml of los in their mouth?? Seriously, that is like 1/5 of a tin.

Just don't try to talk for the first few minutes after it hits your gum. Give it a couple of minutes to kind of "bond" with your saliva.
