what's next after a long time use of General White Portion?

Hello to everyone! I've been using snus for around 3.5 years now and I use it the normal swedish way which is more or less the cigarette brand devotion way. This means that you may try a few brands and types but you stay at one specific choice quite soon after your ''discovering'' period.

So after a few white portion brands, I only use general white for the last 3 years. After my last order I feel like this kind of snus isn't enough for me. After a few minutes, nicotine buzz is so low and I end up using a whole can in a few hours.

Can you recommend me what should go next after general white to get a stronger feeling? I've realized that there are some snus experts here so I know I am asking the right people. I'd prefer portion snus since I want to use a type of snus that is more suitable for social activities. Thanks in advance folks!

Well if you like General the obvious choice would be General Sterk or Onyx (both have 11mg of nicotine compared to the 8mg you would find in regular white portion General). General Extra Sterk is a regular portion, but a lot stronger (15mg)

Nick & Johnny is also 11mg and a favourite of mine.

However if you want to stick to white portions and try something different perhaps try Skruf Stark White portions. It is quite different to General but the nicotine level is quite high (14mg). It also has a bergamot type taste but isn't a General copy like other brands (Granit)

Personally I love Skruf Original portions as they are slightly stronger than General and have 9mg of nicotine - so just enough of an increase.

I haven't had any of the other new stark snus on the market (Thunder, Oden's, Claq Qui, Grov Svart etc) so I can't comment on them, but I am sure other people will be able to.

I have tried them all. If you are mostly a General fan but just need a stronger push. Then definitely try the Skruff Stark whites, or the General Extra Sterk. I am not a huge fan of Gneral and didn't much care for the ES, but you might like it. But the Skruff Stark's WILL kick you butt, I promise.

I am no expert, but it sounds like you need a strong portion as said above. Try any of his recommendations, I love general onyx. Also try Claq qui.

I have found that I like different snus at different times and keep a "rotation" of my favorites.

          Welcome to Snuson ebn2002

You are like most Americans. I have a rotation of about 20 snuses I go through. But Swedes are MUCH different than us (and other Europeans I suspect). About 70% of them ONLY use General. They do their snus the way a typical American does his cigarettes. They only use one thing.

Thanks alot! I've tried General Extra Sterk and found it kinda bad so I'm going for the Skruff Stark.

You could also go to maxi portions, Maxi Geaneral is 14mg Nic. Thats more then enough to kick your ass (if used to nothing but general whites for 3 years).

I would highly recommend that you throw at least 1 can each of the Onyx, Nick & Johnny, and Claq Qui on your next order. All excellent IMO, and if you really don't like them, there's always the Snuson snus exchange. I'm sure you won't have any problem at all finding someone to trade with as all 3 are pretty popular varieties. 8)

Oh and welcome...you've definately come to the right place!

Thank you everyone. I'm soon to Sweden and there I will give a try to all of your recommendations!

Sagedil is right about europeans and snus, this forum is the only place I found people with a huge experience on different brands. General, Ettan and Göteborgs is like more than 90% of all snusers choices in Sweden, based on my experience.

As a long time user of general, I would be really curious to read your reactions when you finally broaden your snus world. So you must post when you are back!!!

I will post for sure. I just hope I won' t stay to the General White after that.

But if that is what you love, then keep using it.

Honestly, after 28 months and using just about everything under the sun, and always rotating what I use, I am really close to just giving up and using only Retro White. Suddenly, more and more snus is just not feeling right to me any more. But every time I use the Retro white, I settle down with a silly grin on my face.

Are you sure it isn't the wacky tobaccy? J/k. I have pretty limited experience but Ettan's is the first snus I could use a majority of the time but I've yet to try skruf or grov yet. How long do swedes typically keep their snus in for? I find 30-60 min is max/portion, with 1-2 hr breaks in between.

Swedes keep it in much shorter. I have heard that 15 - 30 minutes is tpical there. why they use so much more than we do.

Do you know when the majority of nicotine is absorbed?
