I suppose that's why a majority of the oh, so liberal REPUBLICAN Senators voted for it. Or the over 150 REPUBLICAN members in the house who voted for it.

Take a look at the facts. BOTH parties are guilty in this charade.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think there's any major differences between the 2 parties, but I don;t think this bill would have even come up if the republicans were still in control.....I wasn't a huge fan of Bush, but at least he had the sense to veto this crap bill. Ever since Obama took office and the dems controlled the government, they're contantly coming up with more and more ways for the government to intrude in our lives...tobacco legislation, more taxes on soda, beer, liquor, controlling the banks, car companies, etc. This move towards socialism is scaring me and I'm sure the founding fathers are rolling in their graves.

Yeah, I understand. Not sure I fully agree with you, but definitely understand. What makes me SO angry is how badly offtrack the Republican party has gotten. They spent like drunken sailors for 8 years, worse than even Democrats. Even MORE focused on telling us what we could and couldn't do. (Remember Terry Shievo????)

This country desperately needs a REAL strong Republican party to counter the worst of the Democrats. And I say that as a Democrat. Version now is just a joke.

        So....

Bitch all you want about the Democrats, but damn well make sure you make clear that the Republicans really were almost as bad as the Democrats were at least on these Bills and I will shut up.

Regardless of party lines, I say that EVERYONE that voted for this is guilty of genocide. To guarantee the permanency of cigarettes while discouraging safer alternates makes you a mass murderer in my opinion.

It's not a left or right thing for sure. In fact I think they are the same with the exception of a few emotional issues to make them appear separate (like abortion and gay marriage). But when it comes to controlling and ****ing up our lives they are all on the same side of the fence.
