Just depends on store. I have seen prices anywhere from $3 - $6 a can.
FDA Bill Effects on American Tobacco
Collapse

General around me in New York costs from around $3-$6 a can.. however it's rare to find one that is not very close to expiration, so I just order from Northerner
A few questions, this new bill bans flavored tobacco sales. Does that mean things like Skoal ' Apple ' or ' Peach ' will be banned? I'm not a dipper but im still curious about the whole situation.
With the new PACT Act, I checked it out on Google and it only specified that Tax must be paid on ALL tobacco products through mail. Does anyone know how much? And does it apply to imports from Sweden?

Welcome to Snuson TheOneandOnly
As for your first question. honestly, no one really knows. The bill states what the FDA may do, not what they will do.
as for the PACT act, it would actually bad]n the sending of tobacco through the mail. That is the biggest part. We don't know how it will shake out. It doesn't stop shipping via private carrier (UPS< FedEx). But some reports I have read have stated the private carriers have "agreed" not to ship tobacco either.
We really don't know what is coming, why folks around here are far more stressed out about life than normal.
Stick around, we will figure out what is happening as it does, and share any ideas to deal with it as we need to.

I'm really concerned about this PACT bill... I would probably quit snus if it passes, but that's not something I want to do. I don't understand the need for government to step into our lives in this way. What I want to do to my body, all drugs included, is my business as far as I'm concerned. Hell, if I want to stick a needle full of heroin into my arm (I don't), it should be my business and my choice.

I love Ron Paul.
"My objections to the bill are not an endorsement of tobacco. As a physician I understand the adverse health effects of this bad habit. And that is exactly how smoking should be treated — as a bad habit and a personal choice. The way to combat poor choices is through education and information. Other than ensuring that tobacco companies do not engage in force or fraud to market their products, the federal government needs to stay out of the health habits of free people. Regulations for children should be at the state level. Unfortunately, government is using its already overly intrusive financial and regulatory roles in healthcare to establish a justifiable interest in intervening in your personal lifestyle choices as well. We all need to anticipate the level of health freedom that will remain once government manages all health care in this country."

Also, I'm sure a lot of you caught this story on the drudge about how CBS is helping the government brainwash people into thinking nationalized healthcare is good by running "Prescription for America" from the whitehouse and EXCLUDING opposing points of view. State run televison anyone?

I agree with you though. Anyone that shows signs of having their own opinion, and doing anything that departs from the status quo is doomed in politics :^(

It's not that I worry what folks will say, I trust people here now, that is NOT my issue.
I just don't want to read the freakin thread tittle again. I just don't want to talk about such issues here, think about such issues here, I am violently protective about the sand over my head
