A hillbilly slab o' Skruf Los on the right side, cuz my left is sore from overdoing it last weekend, and right side + icetool = fail lol. Don't know why. The old pinch and stuff is great sometimes. Oh and Wild Turkey, chased with Kona Longboard Lager. This can't go on much longer.

Ahh wild turkey. the 101 proof im assuming? a favorite of mine. im currently rocking the wild turkey brass belt buckle, because i couldnt replace my broken iron maiden buckle with just anything.

as for whats in my mouth: tanqueray and schweppes, no ice, twist of lime. thinking about pairing with a goteborgs rape because of the juniper. but lately i just want ettan like all the time.

Try this while it's still hot out: Bombay Sapphire and Tonic + Goat Rape Los. Perfect. Cheers, daruckis, I dig your posts.

I had my first gin & tonic about a month ago. I've never been a big fan of gin, but that was pretty delicious. I've been meaning to make some for myself, but haven't gotten around to it.

thanks roo. i try to keep it real. bombay sapphs good shit, but a few times i had it, i broke out in hives all over my face, i think i may be allergic to an ingredient, which is weird because gins my main drink and thats the only one to do it. and as far as the los, ive had none yet, but my next order is surely to be laden with it.

lxskllr: i was a diehard for bourbon until almost a year ago, i wanted to try out martinis, so i went for the gin, cause a vodka martini just isnt the same, so gradually (actually pretty ****ing quickly) i became a gin drinker. started with seagrams, then gordons, now usually beefeater or the occasional tanqueray when im not feeling guilty spending the extra cash. gin and tonic is my shit now. for a while i was drinking em everyday, took a tolerance break and am now back on the G&Ts. perfect for summer, no doubt. all my firends still cant hang with the G. buncha cheap whiskophiles, which i can understand, but i really feel like gin is my perfect drink. i usually stock up on schweppes, but even when i run out, im not ashamed to say ill do straight gin, or even just a gin and water satisfies my pallet. and beefeater, tanqueray, and bombay sapphire are all 94.6 proof, which i feel is just right as far as alcohol content. so if youre looking to make your own, go with one of those brands, (the taste far surpasses the cheaper gins, but cheap will do in a pinch, especially if your mixing it with tonic anyway, martinis are another story, go big or go home) get some tonic, any will do (i prefer schweppes) and a little squirt of lime juice. sorry for the long post, i tend to while snusing, and even moreso while drunk.

Ahh, gin.......that was my drink of choice early on in the Navy. I used to make my own mixers using gin, Sprite, and 7-UP. I called them "pine cones".

A lot of my dislike of gin came trying cheap brands when I was younger. I got a bottle of Bombay a couple of years ago, and it was a revelation. Still no huge love, but I found it very tasty and drinkable. It was a friend of mine that made me the G&T using Bombay, and I'm now a convert. It won't take the place of my scotch, but I love it for summer. I'm not a big beer drinker. I'll have a couple, and then switch to spirits, as beer doesn't sit well on my stomach. The G&T will be a nice diversion when I'm not n the mood for anything "heavy". Btw, AFAIC, there's only 2 Martinis, and they're both made with gin. One has an olive, and the other has an onion. If it's made with something other than gin, then it isn't a martini :^)
