I had to look it up:

noun, plural gooseberries.1.the edible, acid, globular, sometimes spiny fruit of certain pricklyshrubs belonging to the genus Ribes, of the saxifrage family, especiallyR. uva-crispa (or R. grossularia).

                2.a shrub bearing this fruit.

                  Onyx, here.
Goggs was a new for me too. Not surprised that they call berries goggs in Wales, they've got a town named "Llanfairpwllgwyngyll"

I used to have gooseberry bushes in my yard. I called them "bush-grapes" as a kid, until somebody straightened me out on it. I wasn't a very bright child...
