Skruf Cranberry vs. Roda Lacket

So up for the snus fight this week is Skruf Cran vs. RL vs Offroad Cran

RL at first was an interesting flavor. I'm not sure yet if I like the tobacco enhancement with berry thing. As time has gone on the flavor is noticeable but subtle, there but not overpowering. That is one thing I have come to appreciate about flavored snus is those who can enhance the tobacco but not knock it out completly. Part of me is starting to lean more towards traditional Tobacco taste vs. masked flavor.

Skruf Cranberry so far tastes artificial, part of me whishes that I had tried Skruf Original before hand just so I can get a basis for what seems artificial and what is there to enhance the tobacco. So far, I'm not impressed. Not sure if the buds need a flavor break or what but the real artificial ones are starting to get to me. Maybe because I am still reeling from Jake's Ice Fruit yet. However, as per my tradition I will keep at the Skruf to get a real taste for it and share my results.

I haven't opened OR Cran yet because I want to wait a few days to let the skruf win me or get a packin'.

got a skruf original in right now actually, one of my favorites. however i hated the tranbar, tasted really artificial and i actually ended up giving the can away. i dont think your missing much personally.

i havent tried roda though, is it sort of artifical or sweet berry taste as well? i have tried claq qui and it was good, same deal there?

I too wasn't very fond of Skruf Cranberry. It wasn't too bad, but I'm not much of a fan of cranberry to begin with...Why did I get it again?!

But yeah, I LOVE RL. The fruit flavor isn't overpowering at all, and no, it isn't sickeningly sweet like General Mini Mint and Camel Frost/Mellow. More of an implied sweetness.

I think that I actually like Tranbar better than RL....although I don't think it really tastes much like cranberry at all.

Side note: It's actually kind of interesting how Skruf came up with the flavor; the taste was apparently loosely derived from an old lemonade flavor. There is a little blurb about it on their site (which is possibly the coolest snus manufacturer site I've seen). It's under company history.

thats really interesting. and ya they do have quite the website there. just wish it tasted more like fruit instead of artificial flavoring ;/
mocca pomegranate has the same flavor too (only snus to hit the trashcan)

Skruf Cranberry doesn't taste like Cranberry to me at all. Sometimes it tastes like bananas, and sometimes it tastes like cherry cough syrup. It always tastes pretty bad, though. However, I'd have to say that it's a big improvement over Offroad Cranberry. That one made me want to hurl.

So, I give the advantage to Roda Lacket. Probably the most natural tasting of all fruit flavored snus.

I always keep some Roda Lacket on hand. Skruf Cranberry I'll throw a can in once in a while - it has its merits. I think I have a can in the fridge with three portions that's just sitting there. OR Cran I've never had.

I've tried Offroad Cranberry Loose, Skruf Cranberry portion and Offroad Cranberry Strong portion.
I found the strong cran way too bitter. Skruf has a much nicer flavor. The loose is a nice change from the straight tobacco i usually use.

I like the OR cranberry both in portions and in loose. It has a closer taste to natural cranberries. Then again you would have to enjoy cranberry to enjoy anything flavored like it. The OR Cranberry loose is one of my staples in my lös lineup.

I feel bad about the skruf Cran but after trying a few portions I still don't like it. I hate thinking about tossing one and I know I should wait but I feel like I would have to make myself finish it.

The OR Cranberry loose is one of my staples in my lös lineup.

OR Cranberry fooking rocks. It is one of my favorites, along with much of the V2 los line. The portions are pretty decent, and are a damn sight closer to actual cranberry flavor than Tranbar.

Ok so I tried OR cranberry and I must say it is far better than Skruf Cranberry IMO. It tastes like cranberry and raspberry together. I'm not sure if it will be an everyday Snus but definitely one that I will revisit. Good tasting drip more like a swedish candy snus, good for a litle treat.

So as for Berry King of the Snus IMHO I still would have to side with Roda Lacket. Subtle berry flavor without completely masking the tobacco. Tastes like you would except snus to taste with some enhancement.
