Being a noob, I haven't tried much yet, but I have been paying attention to the products that people seem to have a boner for. Lucky Strike, seems to be one of those products. I'll probably pick some up with my next order. What is it about Lucky Strike that makes it's appeal so broad?

LS is a somewhat unique snus to me -- I've tried just about all the snus out there, and I really can't compare it to anything else taste-wise. I'm not saying it tastes better than all other snus, it's just different. Not the usual bergamotte-based General clone

I havn't tried the 'new' LS yet ... is there any difference besides the tin design? Did they change the portions in any way (size, material)?

The new Luckies don't taste any different than the old Luckies, at least, not to this sophisticated and trained palate. :P

The new can is still as big but slightly lighter than the old all-metal can, and it's odd to have the snustray on the bottom, but you learn to deal with it just fine.

I'm on my first can from the order, and noticed that it has some seriously flat portions that stay wafer-thin even when the can was left out unchilled overnight. I still get the same taste and nicotine buzz out of 'em, though, so I don't feel shorted.

So to sum up: Yay, Luckies are back.

                    Is the new can plastic?

The new can still has a metal lid with a plastic bottom with ashtray in it. At least it felt like plastic. I havent actually opened a can yet.

                          Oh okay thanks.

I sent a message to Northerner yesterday about the new Lucky Strike Bold (strong), asking when they will be getting it and they replied today:
No we don't know yet, but hopefully soon.
If it hasn't turned up by next week I'll just have to go ahead and get the regulars. Any comments on LS portion versus white? I generally prefer whites but if the taste is better with portion then I'll go with that (or possibly both )

                            why don't i like this?

outside of the cool can, it's really nothing different. i was expecting a different taste when it's marketed as "toasted" flavor, but it tastes just like a bland, stripped down general WP for some reason. maybe it's just me, but i didn't like it.

                              F&L has 2 distribution chains:

one for Sweden where they use Swedish Match Distribution
                              http://www.flsnus.se/sw19334.asp

one for Norway where BAT handles the distribution
                              http://www.flsnus.se/sw19336.asp

Right now, no one in Sweden can get Lucky Strike Bold unless they drive across the border into Norway to buy it.
