Just quit smoking with snus! Success

I've been browsing this forum for too long, it has made me love snus like a friend, or a family member. Cigarettes were such a hassle as I was always worrying about my health with every puff. Not to mention the prices of a pack! 10.50 for Exports no thanks.

So far I've saved over 200$ switching smoke for smokeless. ill tell you a little about myself

    I'm from North Vancouver
My favourite snus brands are ettan white, roda lacket white, and general white.
I have no desire to try anything else as of yet, i just love these brands so much, but all these great reviews have sparked some interest.

I hope to stay awhile since i stopped lurking, does anyone have any suggestions that compare well with the ones I've listed?

ettan white, roda lacket white, and general white.

Basically the highest rated products on the Northerner website, thanks to the reviewers, very convincing btw.

If you're only using portions and want a little flavoring, my faves would be the General Wintergreen and dry mini mints, and the Skruf Cranberry. I'd also say Discreet Strawberry portions, but I'd probably get told that's one of the snus for us girlies. :P

If you were thinking of trying los, then I'd recommend the Gotlandssnus Yellow and General for "regular" and Offroad Wintergreen for flavored. Can you tell I'm an ex-menthol smoker? 8)

If you plan on sticking with white portions i would recommend Skruf original white, and for a little more oomph Skruf stark white. Also if you like General white try the General sterk. As far as original portions i would recommend Claq Qui and Nick & Johnny. These are all some of my favorites, but i tend to lean more towards the strong portions. Hope this helps. And of course welcome to the forum...make youself at home!

Oops...forgot to mention Retro original and white, and the Swedish Camel original and white.

                Welcome to Snuson!!

Congratulations on quitting smoking. You seem to like white portions, so perhaps Luckt Strike White, and Tre Ankre may be to your liking. They aren't drastically different from what you've had, but you may enjoy the change. Gotland portions fall somewhere between a regular and white portion for moisture. They're my favorite snus company, but the flavor's a good bit stronger, and different from what you've had so far.

Mint is really not my thing, and loose snus seems like something i might get into down the road, but there's no real intrigue to it at this point. I was really hoping for an orange flavored portion, or maybe a ginger, perhaps a lemon flavored portion or something. Offroad though? Is it even worth a try?

Welcome aboard whokilledmyhooker and congratulations on kicking the cigs. My gig is loose so I'll let those more familiar with the portions make their suggestions. However, when I have to use portions I go with Retro. Given what you like so far I think Retro will be right up your alley.

PS ddandb killed her. I saw the whole thing. Damn cat

Try General Onyx for lemon. It's stronger at 11mg, but it has a nice natural lemon taste.

Thanks, quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I only smoked since i was 17, im 20 now (seems like I'm part of the minority)

It seems like there are a lot of middle aged members here, i hope to gain experience from you wise people, and maybe bring a little flare and hope to others quitting cigarettes as young as I am.

The more i read about on this forum, the more i want to broaden my snus palette. Wouldn't be surprised if my fridge was stocked full of snus within the next few months, there's so many brands to try.

One of the best parts about snusing is that noone here has a clue, it's something unique and positive that i can do for a relatively inexpensive price, and the nicotine delivery is much better than my Export A golds i used to smoke.

                          Welcome to Snuson whokilledmyhooker

I started smoking when was 9, quit by starting to use snus when was 42. So best elder advice I can give you....

Don't be stupid like us old folks.

OK, so the two snus you MUST try, given what you are using and like now is Retro White & Camel White. After almost a year and a half using, usually gong through a rotation of 20 different snuses. I am finally almost at a point where those two are really the only two i want. Throw in an Oden's sterk cinnamon for when I need the high test stuff, and I think I would be happy.

Congratulations on quitting and finding this board whokilledmyhooker! I started smoking at 9 and quit 50 some odd days ago when I suddenly had my quintuple heart bypass at 53, smoking did that to me! All good now! I can second the Retro recommendation along with:

                            Lucky Strike
                            Gottenborgs Rape #2
                            Odens Reg Kanal

It will be an interesting journey! Just pay attention to the most mentioned brands, and try to keep your open can stash to under 25 cans, good luck with that! What I have found is unlike smoking, using all kinds of different brands of snus is the ticket, and you will probably find many different favorites, I have been snussing for 6 weeks, and have sampled only about half of them. I have a morning favorite (odens) lunch favorite, Lucky & Goat rape, and Los (several from six kinds) at night.
wiki "Popcorn Sutton" a true COOT!

I'll throw in a half roll of LSW with my regular order. 5 tins is my trial size haha, sound about right?

Stockpiling snus right now actually seems like a good idea with these new bans and restrictions. Goddamn Canadian customs likes to open my packages, and put a hefty fee on any order over about 5 cans give or take. Money's not the problem though anything to keep me off those evil cigarettes for life.
