Is Snus Low Cost Alternate to Cigarettes?

I have been using the Camel snus because I got many free samples. I see the price is about $5.00 US. This is for 20 pouches. Doesn't really sem to be a low cost alternative. I guess the selling point is smokeless and maybe fewer health concerns.

If you order online from a Swedish source, the price is much cheaper. And you'll get "superior" product to the Camel Snus.

I've never tried the mini pouches but I imagine that the mini pouches would be the same size as the Camel pouches (TINY!).

With loose snus, there's no doubt that the Swedish product is cheaper. A can will last me nearly one week. The Camel product is very expensive in comparison.

Camel and Marlboro snus are NOT REAL SNUS.
It may say "snus" on the package but almost 300 years of Swedish tradition says that it's NOT REAL SNUS.

I've tried a similar test product from Philip Morris called Taboka and they were HARD and SMALL and SWEET. Were they any good? Sure. Was it snus? Definitely not.

Ordering the real thing via internet is much cheaper for Americans.

I will just reiterate was has already been said - Snus is much cheaper than cigs, even with shipping, each can ends up being cheaper than a pack of smokes, and lasts longer (sometimes up to 3 days!)

Also you could look at the costs of associated health risks down the line

I tried the Camel snus, and while it was o.k., each portion seemed to last around 30-45 minutes and left you needing another one straight away. That and each tin was around $5 for 20 miniportions.

Each portion/prilla of swedish snus contains the nicotine amount of 10 or more cigarettes and can be used for hours. That makes the difference.

With snus, I have reduced my spendings for tobacco to about a fifth :!:

The new american (so called snus) brands just seem to be a rip-off, regarding price, number of pouches, amount of tobacco and obviously regarding the nicotine-content, too.

          Cheers!

Yesterday I ordered ten cans from Northerner and even after the inclusion of shipping costs and tax, it was still cheaper than a carton of the cigarettes that I used to smoke (American Spirit Full Flavor). And each can lasts much, much longer than a pack of cigarettes.

So yes, for me snus is a lot cheaper. Considering that I used to go through a pack per day. One carton would last me ten days, sometimes less sometimes more. But a single can of snus will last me two to four days, depending on how prolific I'm feeling. Even if I somehow managed to go through a can ever two days, ten cans would still last me twice as long as a carton of smokes.

            Snus is wonderful.
