    New & In Love

    Hello, all.

I'm new, both to the world of snus and also to this forum.

Snus and I first crossed paths in the form of the awful product that Camel is test-marketing here in Portland, Oregon. I tried the original and was disappointed at the taste. I had been expecting it to taste like, gee, I don't know... TOBACCO, but it tasted like some horrible diet soda or some such thing. I thought that all snus tasted like this and left the whole ordeal alone for a number of months.

Just recently I've been making an effort to quit smoking cigarettes. Prior to doing this, I decided to research snus once more. I read some of the posts on this forum and decided to listen to everyone who had gone into such detail in regards to the differences between the Camel product and actual Swedish snus. I then came across the Northerner website and decided to buy the portion try-out box.

It arrived. I picked it up at the post office, took it home.

I popped open a can of Ettan and immediately fell in love. Gone were my memories of Camel and it's bullshit take on a far superior product.

Over the past days, I've been trying Roda Lacket, General, and Göteborgs Rape and I've enjoyed them all very, very, very much.

Friends, thanks to you I am at the beginning of what I think is going to be a very long and wonderful love affair with Swedish snus.

    Thank you so much.

Welcome to the forum and yes, that love's prolly gonna last quite a while.
Enjoy the multitude of reading material on hand while savoring The True Snus©

By the way; since this forum hasn't yet that many members it's still manageable the amount of semi-off-topic stuff that's posted in the forums.
So don't judge the contents by the topic titles but go ahead and jump in. You never know what awesome tidbit of info got posted somewhere when it would've been edited out by strict moderators on more busy forums.

welcome to the world of snus!
I haven't tried the camel stuff, as I live in Norway.
But from what I have read here on the forum it must be
discusting and nothing like the real stuff from sweden.

so, enjoy and pop by the forum when you can.

          oh the agony

          no snus for months

          been smoking

stopped smoking (can't take it anymore)

one half can of cope left.

tastes like shit compared to snus (and in general) but it's all i've got.

i can't do another can or another pack of smokes.

          must buy snus!

i wish i lived in sweden dammit!

looks like i'm probably going to drop about a $100 tonight. i just can't wait any longer...should'a boughti t last week since the heat was pretty much gone. now it's coming back again.
****ing hate up and down weather.

Oh man, I know the pain. I still have half a can of Cope left in the fridge because the snus I ordered took about two days too long. What a ****ing waste of 5 bucks. Snus is cheaper and somehow a million times better than that putrid stuff.

My plan is to just order so much snus that I will never, ever, ever be out. I never want to have to resort to American dip or chew EVER again.

I'll still have an occasional cigarette though. Usually after eating lunch at school. Having one smoke following a big meal is a wonderful thing sometimes.

yeah...a decent smoke that isn't loaded with chemical shit ain't so bad some times...goes well with a beer.....but doing it regularly completely bites. all the stench, film on my face and hands...nasal/throat problems...ugh.
and the dip...holy crap. stuff gives me headaches almost instantly anymore...I also get a little patch in the middle of my tongue of swollen, white taste buds that starts to become sore...compared to snus it feels like i have a wad of sawdust saturated in antifreeze or some other caustic garbage....

Yeah. When I have a smoke, it's always an American Spirit. No additives. I smoked them for years and they were far and away the best cigarette I ever smoked. I prefer snus now, but I still like a Spirit every now and again.

And yes, they go wonderfully with a good beer.

Yeah, the American dip is just simply terrible. There was a time when I was dipping a few times a day, back when I was in high school and idiotic. The skin on the inside of my lip practically peeled. I've hated it ever since and I won't do it unless it's my very, very last resort.
