    Yet another n00b

You guys must be fed up with all us n00bs but you have another one, thought I'd say hi.
I quit smoking (40 a day, 35 years) a year ago using e-cigs and nasal snuff. At the time I tried snus and it didn't get on with it at all. About a month ago I decided to give it another go and now I'm hooked

I still use an e-cig occasionally, mainly in the morning but my main source of nicotine is now snus and snuff. My problem with them is I like them too much, when I smoked I really did not like it, just feeding an addiction. Now my addiction is fed and I enjoy it, I'm trying not to feel guilty about that

Well we could start with the fact that you are not going to drop over dead from snus or snuff. There's that. And then there is the bit about being able to walk up a hill without being completely winded.

In short, you have moved from a high risk habit to a safe hobby- HELL YES YOU CAN ENJOY IT!!! And what's more, every one around you should support you and share your joy.

Congrats on kicking the cigs and welcome to the forum

Now go and snus in peace.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

      Welcome to Snuson Pete.

No, I never get tired of welcoming new folks. Kinda what Snuson is for.

I am assuming you still snuff. I couldn't imagine depending on snuff for my nicotine needs but I have completely and utterly fallen in love with it in addition to snus

Yes I still like the odd sniff of snuff for a quick hit, but to rely on snuff solely wouldn't cut it for me, would be too messy! I'm amazed how quickly I've fallen for snus, the only downside is the legal situation in the EU. I've not had a problem so far with getting snus fro Buysnus or The Northener but you never know when some bureaucrat is going to foul things up. Strangely you can buy British chewing tobacco here, much the same as US dip, not the safest thing to put in your mouth but the much safer snus is banned  I'll never understand politics!

The UK snus user community grows!

          Welcome

PS: If they ever change the laws on shipping snus to the UK I'll just fly to Sweden once a month and bring back rolls

Sounds like a plan, I just checked Ryanair and I can get to Sweden for £5 each way if I'm not too choosy about dates.

Welcome. I am also revisiting snus, after trying it back around Feburary, and this time I am liking it much more. To me, it's a million times better than US dip. I also like nasal snuff. Years ago I was a regular smoker, but I quit with relative ease. I am not a nicotine freak like some(it seems), but for some reason I enjoy tobacco use. Like nasal snuff, I find snus has a certain hobby quality about it, sorta exotic, being an American. The various brands and flavors make it interesting too. Back when I was a smoker I just went for the cheapest pack of smokes I could find. I also find snus and snuff(especially snuff) to be very cost effective. I'm averaging 6 snus portions a day, so that would be 3 days worth for a can. Snuff, the nasal kind, seems to last me forever in the can.

Nasal snuff has a huge advantage in the UK as it carries no customs duty, only VAT so it is really cheap. I have a pretty large collection of snuff now, some nice, others less so but it doesn't cost. SNUS has Swedish tax on it so it's more expensive but still a lot less than smoking and I really enjoy it.

I'm in the US in a couple of weeks, does anyone know the situation about buying from shops in New England? We'll be staying in Connecticut and Vermont. Just need to know if I need to take lots with me.
